  • Beautiful beach, excellent service and accommodation. Clean and absolutely gorgeous property!

"Beautiful house with a very big living room for the whole family to share. Clean rooms and amenities including a lovely pool amid tropical green surroundings. Jose, the man who oversees the property daily from 8-4 including cleaning the pool and premises is incrediblely nice and professional and always willing to help out. The property is only 5 minutes away from the most pleasant walk to the beach surrounded by trees that give you the feeling of being in a beautiful jungle. A true tropical paradise with every sense of the word. Will definitely come back as my whole family loved being there. I would give it my highest recommendation. In addition great communication with the owner of the property who allowed for seamless check-in and check-out and truly cared and made sure we had an excellent stay."

  • Lovely House - Perfect for a family reunion!

"Visited August 25-31, 2016. The house is beautiful, modern, well-maintained, and very private. COMMON AREAS are open concept: living room/dining-room/kitchen. There is a large TV (no cable), DVD player with lots of movies. Evenings are hot, even with all doors open. I’d like to suggest a couple of ceiling fans OR tower fans. BEDROOMS: The four bedrooms are in a separate, lockable wing; we slept feeling very secure. All bedrooms have A/C, which is a must for the hot and humid nights. CARETAKERS: Maritza and husband are sweet and helpful. We hired them for additional services (cooking/cleaning/washing). Maritza is an excellent cook; give her instructions how you want the food prepared. The wash: I am afraid, though, without a washing machine, washing for a large family (we were 10 people) it’s a bit taxing, especially with the humid, rainy weather. I'd like to suggest a washing machine! LOCAL FOOD STORES/ATTRACTIONS: We ate a lot of fresh fish purchased at the Co-Op less than two miles away. The fish arrives fresh daily. There are many little stores outside; the staff will run errands for you (small fee). Otherwise, there is a Super Talpa supermarket 5 miles away. CAR RENTAL: strongly suggest a car retal, for errands, local attractions, to/from airport, etc. Driving is easy and safe. The directions provided are easy. RESTAURANTS: a couple of western style restaurants are nearby. Many little kiosks right outside the house open at night and prepare pupusas, we didn't feel lucky. Maritza can make these for you! ATRACTIONS: Less than 15 miles away is Estero y Mar, on Pimental Beach. We ate lunch and took a mangrove tour by boat, or you can hire kayaks. THE BEACH: The beach itself was a bit of a let-down the sense that there were rip tides present (we took a couple of nasty tumbles). It is not a flat beach, and dips into the ocean. People should not venture alone into these waters, and kids need to be supervised. Other than that, it’s a nice beach for viewing and walks in the evening. SECURITY: The house has open access to the beach, and there is light gate; we felt safe at all times. Plus locking the sleeping quarters area, gave us a sense of security. SUMMARY: A lovely house, spacious, comfortable, with a beautiful, clean swimming pool! The owners are also lovely and we kept open communication going before traveling. Bring your favorite cooking spices, or things that you can’t do without, as those may not be found there. Highly recommended!"

  • Long overdue review for an outstanding villa, location and services!

"I am the owner of a surf school in Los Angeles and we have been hosting our bi- annual surf / Yoga retreat at Villa Del Olas for 5 years now! In total we have stayed 12 times. The Location is directly on the ocean. The community is safe and secure. 12 people can sleep comfortably. The kitchen is fully stocked. The property is well maintained, the staff is friendly and helpful. There are 9 hammocks in all :) Our favorite thing is the beachfront BBQ. A couple noes to fellow travelers: 1. Some months are hotter than others if you are sensitive, Dec to March are very temperate where as April/May are very hot -- but it is always easy to cool off in the ocean, the sparkling pool or the yoga deck. 2. Once you get past the fact that beachside amenities in El Salvador are somewhat limited and you turn off that HD video feed on your iPad,... Really there is no better place to be than Villa Del Olas. If you really need it, the Atami club just 200 yards away has a dedicated wifi line. 3. The management can arrange airport transfer, tours or even surfboard rentals for the beach just in front. Make any special arrangements well ahead of time as good tour guides and rental cars get booked out, especially at the holidays. We have countless students and adventure travelers who consider their trip to El Salvador the best trip of their life. This is mostly due to the amazing rental property Villa Del Olas. Thank you for all the great stays in El Salvador Villa Del Olas and we will see you in April 2017!!"
