  • Hiding in the Trees

"This little gem is perfect for a couple who want to have a view of the lake with birds as their neighbours. This place is quiet and set in a perfect spot; the pictures on the website do not lie. Terry, the owner, is a delight and more than willing to help but she also gives you your privacy. It is situated just outside of San Marcos on the way to Tsunuma. It is between Casa Joyce and Casa Palo, lakeside with a blue gate and some bamboo at the bottom. We arrived by car, in the dark, so these directions are very helpful. Everything except your groceries is provided - even drinking water! The bathroom with a view is to die for! San Marcos has many ex-pats who live there or are there for extended visits and the Mayans live behind the lakeside village. All necessary provisions are available in the village which is an easy walk. There are a number of trails on the property and you can walk down to the waterfront. Be sure to check the water on the web before you swim. We can't thank Terry enough for our wonderful and unique visit."

  • Perfect Place - Best View of Lake

"Spent about a week here - it is the perfect location. Very easy walk/tuk tuk into San Marcos...or boat launch from private deck. Pierre was very easy to work with, his staff was prompt/helpful and the property itself is just stunning. It is hands down the best view of the lake...we would stay here again in a heartbeat."

  • Great place, quiet, relax time, sad last night power goes down

"This is a great place is maybe in the best place of the this area of the lake you can swin! If you don't mind some cool water, house is nice have everything you need but cable tv (anyway you don't need it). Pros: location, hot water, kitchen, chimney, people who works here (santos and cleaning lady) are really helpful, info book Cons: slow internet but a least we had it, pier is really a little high and if you have a lot of things is a little problem... santos help you out with you things, power goes down, we spend of last night and half of day with no power... sad Also I have to said that walking to Santacruz for me was so fun but is not for everybody really challenging, and maybe is worth it no many things to do there, stay on lake and have fun! Get all you need from pana or where you staying, reserve the boat you get a better price talk to santos or Paola... anyway I like the house maybe I come back"

  • It Was Great

"Great views of the lake and the climate is an eternal Springtime . Saw one of the volcano mildly erupt one morning as I was waiting for the the sunrise. The plume was illuminated by the rising sun. Room is clean, bright, airy and the water pressure is good in the shower. If you arrive via the small ferry let Carlos know in advance of the ETA and if you come via the road check-in at the Blind Lemon Restaurant- which also has cable for sporting events. Carry-on wheeled bags and backpacks work best on the path up to the house. Good restaurants with a healthy food /lifestyle theme are in San Marcos. Short ferry ride to San Pedro and a little longer to Pana for day trips."
