  • My guests were sad to leave. And I can't wait to go back!

"If you want safety, security, quiet, beauty and views amidst luxury in a perfect location, choose Casa Bella! The minute I came through the front security gate into the compound, I knew that Casa Bella was going to be exceptional in every way. From the chaos of the city streets, I found a sense of serenity and calmness in the surrounding beauty of the homes. As I stepped through the front door of the house, the inner garden greeted me with lush plantings and flowers of every color. The red hibiscus blooms were the size of dinner plates. The kitchen was welcoming, well-equipped, functional and kept sparkling clean by the housekeeper. The living areas were spotless and comfortable. The two ground level bedrooms had private baths with walk-in showers and shared a small garden. One of my guests had limited mobility and was well accommodated. The two large upper bedrooms shared a lavish bathroom and many amenities. They opened onto a huge terrace with 360-degree views of volcanoes and the old city. A spiral staircase led to another terrace with the highest views in the neighborhood. (We enjoyed many hours on these garden terraces watching sunrises, sunsets, full moons, volcanoes and shooting stars.) Casa Bella is actually a living museum of Guatemalan art. There are collections of paintings, sculptures and textiles throughout the property that thrill they eye and speak of the local people and their customs. The listing description and the virtual tour were accurate. The owner provided useful information about the workings of the house. Also strategic suggestions to help make our trip enjoyable. She gave tips that aren't found in guide books and stayed in touch. She anticipated our every need, including two house mobile phones. There were no bad surprises, only happy experiences. The driver/guide she suggested was a jewel. He negotiated the city traffic and mountain roads with skill. One of my guests asked me to mention Meson Panza Verde for a special dinner. I suggest a trip up to Tenedor del Cerro for Sunday brunch for the views, food, art and people watching. All five of us agreed that the trip to Lake Atitlan was the highlight of the trip."

  • Comfortable, beautiful home in Antigua

"I want to thank Pamela for making your home available to us. Our trip could not have been better and the house could not have been better. The beauty of the garden, the beautiful views and the overall peacefulness of the home all contributed to make our return to Antigua a wonderful time for our family. When we lived there in the 90's, this subdivision was just coffee finca. It was amazing to see how that part of town has grown and developed. There were no tuk-tuks back then either. They sure made getting back home after a long day in town much easier. We had 10 adults in the house and we were all comfortable. The only thing that I might recommend as useful would be a coffee grinder. We used the blender and it was fine but a coffee grinder would be a tad more convenient. Obviously, if that is my only suggestion everything else was wonderful. We were gone for one night up to Nebaj, Quiche to visit with our daughter's birth family. We arrived back at the "Casa de Frost" at about 8:00 Friday night after a long day on the road and it was like coming home. I gladly recommend this home for families or groups up to 10. I’m sure children would love it too. Pamela was easy to work with via email"

  • Convenient and quiet

"We thoroughly enjoyed a few days in the condo. It was quiet and convenient for our family (admittedly, we do prefer to be a bit away from the action). We were easily able to walk around town. The pool was lovely - chilly, but the kids enjoyed it. The house was comfortable, had everything we needed and the full size washer/dryer was a bonus. The patio with table & chairs was also really nice."

  • 1/4 to 1/18/16

"We were 6 adults and three middle age couples who enjoyed our stay in Casa Amelia. The description of the house was correct and we loved the quiet but central location. we had positive communications with the gracious owners (from the US) We cooked and ate in often, enjoying the well equipped kitchen and lovely dining area. The house had a lot of character and we enjoyed the library as well. Would the broken wicker furniture on the patio upstairs be replaced- it would be perfect. This was a minor problem. We loved the house and liked the guardians (next door) who were helpful. we hope to return for maybe longer next winter. Thank you!!"
