  • Landed in Paradise!

"Five women (ages 70s) who like to snorkel stayed here for 10 days. We thought it was fabulous. The air was 87 degrees daytime with light breeze, evenings 77, water 82! White sandy beach with tourquoise blue water in front of resort. Incredible! The snorkeling was so easy and lots of reef without boat traffic. Great corals and sponges. Did see one turtle. The amenities at the resort were excellent...guards present and no hassles from local vendors. All beach gear safe, leaving it at the beach or pool. Ice water and fresh beach towels at hand. The Palapa Bar/restaurant was close to the water for view and breeze. The wait staff as well as all resort staff were amazing. We hung out in bathing suits all day, even at the restaurant, feet in the sand. In fact I think I wore shoes to the airport and wore sandals when we walked the Meridian Resort and Kismet restaurant to escape beach traffic when 5 cruise ships came in. Other than that I was barefoot or in flip flops! The unit was perfect for us five. We had breakfast in the room or out on patio. We had some lunches and occasional dinner in the unit. If we needed anything we called the front desk and all was taken care of. The food at restaurants on the beach was consistently good. We ate at Celeste's twice. All of us would like to return. The only negative was a few mosquitos and biting sand flies. The person who sprayed her clothes with pyrithrin didn't have any problems. We all used bug spray after 5 PM. It was PARADISE!"

  • Unreal

"Look, I understand how someone could give this a three-star rating if they are expecting to be in walking distance from other stuff, need air conditioning, etc., but that is not what this place is about. Yes, the grocery store is 20 minutes away, but on the bright side, you are 20 minutes away from civilization in your own private paradise. My wife and I went with a couple of friends, none of us had kids, and we initially had certain expectations, like restaurants close by, internet/phone service, air conditioning, etc., but all of that goes away after your first couple of hours there. The internet didn't work, and I'm glad it didn't, it was an escape from everything. We actually forgot one of our suitcases, turns out we didn't even need it, just need bathing suit and a pair of shorts for an entire week. As for air conditioning, there was a constant cool ocean breeze all day and night, didn't need it. The staff was great, didn't get in our way at all, but were seconds away if we ever needed anything. We literally had our own private reefs right in front of us. You could take the boat out to the deeper reefs, kayak and drop anchor at some other reefs, or just jump off the boat dock and float through some of the most beautiful reefs until you reached the other dock, and then repeat all day every day. We never saw or heard any other boats or people, except for the occasional local fisherman who shouts up to you to see if you would like any live crab or lobster. Who needs civilization when you have this at your fingertips? There was a sound system so we could play our ipod outside, tv with dvd and satellite tv, so you could still stay connected to the world. If you are the type of person that needs to go shopping, go to restaurants for all of your meals, and needs to be entertained, then maybe this isn't the place for you. If you are looking for a great escape from the world, THIS is the place for you."

  • Nice Stay

"Our stay at Villa delfin was a great experience. We stayed there for a week, in the Studio unit. There is a few other units on the property including the owners. Carleen and her husband were very friendly and even gave us a lift into town one day. As far as the property goes, it is quite nice and very well maintained and most of all very safe! The Studio apartment is great for a couple. It had all the necessary amenities we needed, and the large refrigerator was great for storing our drinks and food. There is also plenty of parking if you decide to rent a car or scooter which we did as we wanted to explore the island. The Studio sits on the 2nd floor, so you get a nice strong breeze in the evening which was nice. The apartments sits up in the jungle away from the beach. Although you can take a short walk down to the nearest beach area to catch a water taxi, but walking back up the pretty steep hill is not much fun. There are no stores or restaurants nearby, so you have to walk down and catch a water taxi or call one from your unit. Although I think there was a restaurant /resort down by the beach area but we did not try it. So if you prefer to be away from everything and everyone then this complex will be great for you. But if you like the convenience of all the options at West Bay or West end like we did, then you might want to stay closer to the hustle and bustle. We would definitely recommend this rental property to our friends and family. Thank you for your hospitality, Carleen! :D"

  • Spectacular Property

"The view from the veranda is amazing - never got tired of it for the entire 2 weeks. Spotlessly clean. Beautifully decorated with great bedding, towels, kitchen gear, etc. Brigitta and Jaw were genuinely engaged and did everything possible to ensure our visit was fabulous. Jaw even provided fresh fruit from his "orchard" whenever it was ripe. Went to nearly all the recommended restaurants with Cal's and La Sirena being the best. Also hired Subway Divers (right around the peninsula) for a private snorkeling trip. We also ate in quite a bit and Eldon's had a surprisingly wide selection of groceries. Also picked up fish from Hyburs. Only warning is that the Internet is not high speed and you will quickly use up your download quota. With 4 of us regularly visiting Facebook, instagram, etc., we definitely gobbled up the gigabytes. Just plan on using it less and know that you'll have to spin down to the store to refill. Bottom line, this place and the owners are simply superb. Stay there if you can."
