  • Great Place!

"This is a really cool place. To have such a view on Sandy Bay....just wonderful! The dock out back is unique and huge and in fact we spent one day just hanging out there drinking and chatting, taking advantage of the hammocks, snorkeling and kayaks. Plenty of shade, so don't think you have to be exposed, but if you want sun, there's a sun deck with a table, chairs and ottomans. Loved it! The reef is just a few hundred feet off the end of the dock, so take a kayak out there. Really, you could swim to the reef if you wanted to - the water salinity is high enough that you don't sink! Talk about effortless snorkeling! Just beautiful! The house is well cared for and it's apparent - there's fresh paint everywhere. The kitchen, on the 2nd floor, is beautiful and large, with filtered water served from the fridge door and there's a generous walk-in pantry. The billiards table appears to be regulation size & in great shape. The balconies off the 2nd and 3rd floors are as wide as the house and the one on the 3rd floor is right off the Master bedroom (and is covered). Wonderful breezes! Air conditioners are there if you need them, but if you open the windows you shouldn't. The location is only a short $6 cab ride to the West End, where there are lots of great restaurants & little shops & diving businesses. From there you can go to West Bay Beach (take a water taxi!) and spend the day at a FANTASTIC beach, with white sand, crystal clear warm water and beach bars. (Hang out at Bananarama - free chairs if you buy food or drinks at the bar!) We really miss this place. It has ruined us for beach fun here on the East coast - nothing really can compare. We'll be back!"

  • Unreal

"Look, I understand how someone could give this a three-star rating if they are expecting to be in walking distance from other stuff, need air conditioning, etc., but that is not what this place is about. Yes, the grocery store is 20 minutes away, but on the bright side, you are 20 minutes away from civilization in your own private paradise. My wife and I went with a couple of friends, none of us had kids, and we initially had certain expectations, like restaurants close by, internet/phone service, air conditioning, etc., but all of that goes away after your first couple of hours there. The internet didn't work, and I'm glad it didn't, it was an escape from everything. We actually forgot one of our suitcases, turns out we didn't even need it, just need bathing suit and a pair of shorts for an entire week. As for air conditioning, there was a constant cool ocean breeze all day and night, didn't need it. The staff was great, didn't get in our way at all, but were seconds away if we ever needed anything. We literally had our own private reefs right in front of us. You could take the boat out to the deeper reefs, kayak and drop anchor at some other reefs, or just jump off the boat dock and float through some of the most beautiful reefs until you reached the other dock, and then repeat all day every day. We never saw or heard any other boats or people, except for the occasional local fisherman who shouts up to you to see if you would like any live crab or lobster. Who needs civilization when you have this at your fingertips? There was a sound system so we could play our ipod outside, tv with dvd and satellite tv, so you could still stay connected to the world. If you are the type of person that needs to go shopping, go to restaurants for all of your meals, and needs to be entertained, then maybe this isn't the place for you. If you are looking for a great escape from the world, THIS is the place for you."

  • Great Place...superstar owner

"My friend and i have been traveling for 17 years and started doing apts in 2002 by chance, should have had the foresight to start VRBO! In all that time we have never had an owner more organized than we had for this apt. She is intensely organized and leaves no stone unturned. One cool thing is the guest cupboard which is locked so maids dont take what we all leave behind and rather we leave it for eachother...think extra coffee filters, sugar, coffee, olive oil etc. Internet is generally an issue in Honduras but at least you have your own router here...try off hours is all for streaming otherwise email etc is fine. The room has two bathrooms [one en-suite and one in the hall] and a very large balcony. I'd note you are better off in this location between the pool and the main building than over the pool as the pool can be very loud and it's nice to get away. take advantage of $10 water taxis to west end available at the resorts dock or grab someone right there to fish, snorkle, dive, stand up paddle etc. Was very safe and fun enviroment and the owner is a 10 out of 9!"

  • Loved this place. LOVED.

"Let me start by stating that we use VRBO every time we travel. We stay in condos or homes, and I usually trust the reviews of others to guide me to the right property. After looking at the pictures, we chose this condo for a variety of reasons. I give this the highest of ratings for many reasons listed below. 1. Location. The resort is on the nicest beach in all of Roatan. It is on the far end of the beach, so not in the middle of loud bars. The property has a restaurant (buffet) and palapa bar (food and drinks). Literally the prettiest resort on the island. We almost booked Grand Roatan, and after visiting, I am SO glad we chose IB. Just an overall better set up. 2. Resort itself. This place is beautiful. The pool area, gardens, beach, etc are all spectacular. All maintained beautifully. Resort employees greet you and make you feel very welcome. 3. The rooms. This unit is a one bedroom, one bathroom unit. Not to offend the owners, but their pictures simply do not do justice to their condo!!! We noted that all one bedrooms at IB are seemingly identical (same furniture, etc.). The condo was SO MUCH NICER than the pictures led us to believe! It is simply beautiful. We cooked a few breakfasts there, and the pans/dishes/etc were very adequate. The purified water (and ICE MAKER!) was such a bonus as well. 4. The owners. Owners were so easy to book with, and accommodated us when we had a slight schedule change. They gave us all information to check in timely. Such an amazing couple to deal with. Not sure how the "front desk pool" usually does with reservations, but these guys are top notch! 5. Location of room. This may be a drawback for some, but the condo is NOT right in front of the pool. It is a two minute (at most) walk through stunning gardens to get to the pool/ocean. WE LOVED THIS as it meant quiet! We could not hear the bar, the restaurant, etc. For some people, this is a problem. For us it was GREAT. 6. Second floor condo. LOVED this is on the second floor. No worries about leaving things on our balcony. Balcony roomy and had ample lighting. 7. Beach. Again, this is on the most beautiful stretch of beach. Chairs were so comfy at both beach and pool. 8. Security. Cannot say enough good about the professional security here. AMAZINGLY SAFE. CONS: None. Simply none. Have no worries if you are considering this condo. It is a fantastic place to enjoy, relax, rejuvenate and refresh. FIVE STARS!"
