  • Oyster Bed Lagoon in Utila

"Beautiful villa with semi-private swimming pool, shared with one more villa. Fortunately there was a nice group on the other villa and we party together. We had a BBQ on the pool deck. The sun rise from the master Bed Room Balcony is spectacular to have a cup of coffee before diving. Bath tub is great to relax after diving and recharge skin and mind. Most TV channels are in Spanish. Easy access to main street restaurants. I paid $2.00 for taxi run of 10 minutes to downtown. Beach front restaurants have great food at a low cost, nice wine selection from Chile and Argentina. Utila has narrow streets and a lot of people walking, easy to make friends. Alberto, California"

  • Perfect for us!

"Our recent stay at the Blue Bayou Beach house was perfect. if you're looking for amenities that you would find at a beach resort, this house is not for you, however it was perfect for my wife and I. Mike, the property manager takes care of anything you made need. He comes by everyday and is always a pleasure to talk to. You will not find a better view of the sunrise than from the hammock on the porch of Blue Bayou Beach House. We spent a lot of time on the porch. The neighborhood is quiet and it's only a 10-15 minute walk to town. There is great snorkeling right off the dock. I agree that the house could use a little TLC (updating), but it does have everything you need. It's the perfect place for two people to get away and truly have some down time! The island was great and I hope to go visit again soon!"

  • Home away from home

"My three teenager children visited Utila and stayed at La Mayur from July 30, to August 7, 2016. La Mayur is absolutely beautiful with a wonderful view. We were very impressed by the house and the surroundings. La Mayur is located within walking distance of the town yet is so calm and peaceful, surrounded by lush greenery providing a wonderful ambiance. My children finished their diving course in Utila and got their PADI certification. They are looking forward to their next trip and want to stay at La Mayur. We all loved staying in La Mayur for all that it has to offer. The property and is well maintained, the landscaping is beautiful and the swimming pool is clean and well maintained in which my kids had a blast. La Mayur is perfect in every aspect and we were happy, relaxed and comfortable as if in our own home. Highly Recommend."

  • Excellent Vacation Spot

"This was my first VBRO trip. Everything turned out wonderful. I was a little skeptical about the photos of the site. However, everything is even more beautiful in person. The reef was amazing. Snorkeled every day and seen many varieties of marine life and coral. The house had newer ac units. They worked great. The only thing that we didn't really care for was the power consumption meter. I've never gone on vacation where you have to pay this close attention to not running out of power. It was very hot there in the afternoons so you have to run the AC. The property managers Dave and Trish were very nice. They took us to town one day and we stopped at the keys on the way back to pick up some fish to grill. They left us a cell phone if we had any issues. Took a water taxi to Neptunes for lunch one day. Recommend this if you go. I really enjoyed reading in the morning with a cup of coffee. So relaxing. The stars at night are incredible too. Good vacation place to really get out of your busy routine."
