  • Great Location

"Great little place on a quiet part of the beach. The beach itself was clean and raked daily. Great snorkeling in either direction. The gazebo on the beach was perfect for lounging away the days. House was nice, everything you need. AC worked great which made it perfect for sleeping. The onsite host, Gilberto, was awesome. Always able to help out with anything, great advice for some local recipes, places to go, places not to go, anything you could think of. Always there when you needed him. It would have been nice to have a bit more water pressure in the shower, but you don't go to Roatan for the showers! I would come back here again for sure"

  • Like being at home but in paradise!!

"We had such an awesome stay at Villa Joya. It is so peaceful here on your own little beach and with your own private pool. You are tucked away from all the hustle and the bustle but a 3 minute walk to all the action if thats what you desire. The house has everything you could possibly need. They even had snorkel equipment to use, beach towels, spices to cook with, grill, books, DVDs, Cds, you name it! You look out your back door and theres your little pool and beyond that the most beautiful blue water and private white sandy beach all to yourself. Grab your snorkel gear and swim out to an awesome reef just beyond the water taxi bouys right out your back door!! You will see incredible fish and sea life after a short swim to the reef! Theres a great dive resort next door which is super quiet, you never even hear anyone over there. You can cook or BBQ at the house or go next door to the restaurant (get the lobster thermidor, its to die for). Also if your a diver you literally can walk out the back door of the house and a minute walk to dive shop to go diving. We will definelty be back to Villa Joya!! It truly is a little slice of heaven!"

"This little piece of paradise was everything we hoped it would be and more! It was far removed from the hustle and bustle of the cruise ship traffic and tourist crowds but close enough to drive in to experience island cuisine and tours. Waking up to the sound of the waves on the beach and the birds was so relaxing and being able to enjoy a cup of Honduran coffee on the screened in porch can't be beat. Relaxing in the hammocks on the porch while reading a book or napping after a swim in the ocean only made this little piece of paradise even more inviting. I can see how easy it would be to live on island time permanently! The staff and hosts were all very sweet and helpful when needed, which was rarely, because Char and Gordon have thought of everything possible to make this bungalow perfect for a hospitable, relaxing stay. We definitely hope to come back again soon!"
