  • Home away from home

"My three teenager children visited Utila and stayed at La Mayur from July 30, to August 7, 2016. La Mayur is absolutely beautiful with a wonderful view. We were very impressed by the house and the surroundings. La Mayur is located within walking distance of the town yet is so calm and peaceful, surrounded by lush greenery providing a wonderful ambiance. My children finished their diving course in Utila and got their PADI certification. They are looking forward to their next trip and want to stay at La Mayur. We all loved staying in La Mayur for all that it has to offer. The property and is well maintained, the landscaping is beautiful and the swimming pool is clean and well maintained in which my kids had a blast. La Mayur is perfect in every aspect and we were happy, relaxed and comfortable as if in our own home. Highly Recommend."

  • Great location and great property

"We stayed at Casa Rubio for 12 days in the beginning of February and had a great experience. Our party was a 70 year old couple, a 40 year old couple and a 7 year old and everyone was very happy with the house. The house: House was super roomy and built to US standards. Beds were all very comfortable, appliances were all top of the line, air conditioners worked, tv and internet were both good. One shower had temperamental water pressure but we just used the other 2 showers. Plenty of closet and dresser space. The deck was huge with an awesome view, and was partially covered allowing us to sit outside if there was a rain shower or the sun was too much. The owner and groundskeeper were super quick to respond to any questions we had. Getting around: It was our first time to Roatan and the location of the house worked out great. We did not rent a car and got around fine. The house is situated between west end and west bay and either can be reached quickly by water taxi for $3 per person. It is about a 3/4 mile walk to either, and took us about 15-20 minutes with our group. Walking to West Bay was easy enough for everyone in our group and you can make the whole walk and keep your feet dry, but there is a steep set of stairs you have to climb. The walk to West End is doable but there are points that you have to go over rocks or go into the water so don't wear shoes that you don't want wet. Good restaurants in both directions, we especially enjoyed the Creole Chicken in West End. On a side note we hired a local named Cleve Bodden for a island tour on our first day. I can't recommend him enough. Best tour guide I have ever had, and we vacation 2-3 times a year with many tours. You can find him on trip advisor and won't be disappointed. Snorkeling and Scuba: There is a dive shop right on the beach at the house called Clearwater adventures. They were great. Small group great guides and reasonable prices and there are tons of dive spots within minutes of the dock. Sam and Denisse were both awesome to work with. Good snorkeling right in front of the house and awesome snorkeling a short swim or kayak/boat ride away."

  • Beautiful Property with Great Ocean Views

"We really enjoyed our 10 day stay at Lawson Rock. It was very quiet, clean and a perfect place to get away. This condo was perfect for a family with kids or even 2 couples staying together. There is plenty of room to spread out and be completely comfortable. The private pool with waterfall was a perfect size, beautiful and very refreshing! The kitchen seemed to have everything we needed! We were even welcomed with two 5 gallon jugs of water for cooking. We still purchased a couple cases of bottled water to have while we were out. During our stay, the restaurant was closed so we went into the West End or West Bay nearly everyday. If we were to do our vacation over again, we would have rented a car for the whole time. A car isn't completely necessary as there are taxis everywhere and ready to pick you up any time, but it did make it a little pricey to go back and forth if you wanted to clean up before your evening activities. We loved having the ability to call anyone we needed as we were provided with a cell phone for local calls to use as needed. We didn't use it much but it was nice to have. If you are looking for near by restaurants and night life, we would recommend staying closer to the West Bay or West End area. If you are looking for a quiet, secluded and beautiful property, we would highly recommend Lawson Rock."

  • This place is amazing!

"Hello Matt, I wanted to write a review for your place, because I felt that strongly about the awesome value it is and how much we enjoyed staying here. We have stayed at many VRBO homes, but this one is exceptional. So here it goes... This is the perfect place to stay on Roatan. It is our 4th time to visit the island and we have stayed at The Meridian Lighthouse Point each time. We love the area where your home is located and would only pick yours because of it’s location and how nicely you have it decorated. Close enough to all the fun the island has to offer, but with it’s own secluded beach. The home is amazing, all new and beautiful. We love how you can escape upstairs onto the outdoor deck with private swimming pool. It overlooks the beautiful ocean. So much privacy and yet your outside overlooking an incredible view of the sea. Down the stairs and your right there close to the main pool and little cafe/bar area as well. Beach is only a few steps away. We love it! We rented a van and drove to the very other side of the island where we could take the boats through the mangrove trees. It was awesome. We went to a little restaurant/bar where it’s only accessible by boat and had such a great time. Thank you for making all of this possible. I am overwhelmed at what a great property you have. Perfect location, and so beautiful. Thanks again for allowing us to stay here. We love your place!"
