  • A Fantastic experience!

"1. Gabrial is all that and way more, he was awesome to deal with, punctual, honest, a great person, we even met his family as they joined us for dinner one night. Gabe found us some fresh sea food and I grilled it up...it was a very nice evening and they are great people. 2. the house was wonderful. It was as advertised and more, the vistas were awesome, it was so quiet, when the clouds parted(maybe twice) the nights were just wonderful. L walked the roads every day and Jo went with her a couple of times, they felt safe, never had an incident...it was all really really good. the layout is very cool, had we travelled with the kids it is a perfect layout. With the separate living area downstairs then the space on the main floor, tough to beat. 3. The place was very clean and well presented, it had everything that we needed plus...The balconies and views are just awesome, almost has to be seen to be appreciated. 4. The Island itself, well we are planning on returning in 2017 to look for a property to maybe build on, we are spending our downtime now researching...that is what we thought of the Island...I liken it to Cozumel 15-20 years ago, sleepy, laid back, great people, safe, a place that I can see us parking some money in the coming years. This was the first vacation that I have been on that I can honestly say without hesitation that I was sad to see end. Usually after 4 days I am pacing, anxiously awaiting the flight home...this time I was sad to go...it felt like home. Despite the weather(see #5) 5. The weather was awful, I think we caught the outer edges of Hurricane Otto, so it rained pretty much every day and most days it rained all day...we dove and we wandered around in West End, and on what was the best weather day we toured the Island with Gabe...despite the weather still a 12 on a scale of 1-10. 6. Gabe, well he gave us a tour of the Island one day and it was awesome, we saw some amazing beaches that were deserted, I suspect a combination of weather and low season...but stunning beaches none the less. We just toured the entire Island to get a feel for it...and the feeling was positive in the strongest terms. Gabe and his kids gave us a pretty good sense of the people on the island, but it seemed that everywhere we went people were welcoming and warm and friendly, and not in that I am about to extract money from you way...it really seemed like a genuine warmth...the place was awesome. 7. The negatives...well negative...the stairs in the house"

  • Condo at Infinity Bay

"The condo at Infinity Bay was amazing. Such a well-kept clean comfortable property. The kitchen was well stocked, items such as DVDs and games for entertainment. They even had floats for the pool! We would definitely stay in this condo again! Only thing to consider is that it's on the 3rd floor and no elevators. Nevertheless, the views from the balcony more than made up for this!"

  • Perfect home for getting away and relaxing

"We rented Rita's home for 4 nights. It easily accommodated my husband and I, our 3 adult children, 1 daughter in law, 1 son in law and our 19 month old granddaughter. The house is bright, spacious, well maintained and well stocked with everything you might need to make for a relaxing, stress free vacation. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, dishware and some basic spices and herbs. Rita, as well as the management company, are quick to respond to emails and to address questions or concerns you might have before your arrival. The management company was waiting for us at the airport and showed us the way to the house providing a brief orientation to the property. The property management company overseeing the daily running of the place was very professional and easy to reach when guidance was needed. Francisco, Luca and Gail all speak excellent English and went above and beyond the call of duty when I inquired about having a chef come to the house to prepare an island meal incorporating the Barracuda our "men folk" caught on a deep sea fishing trip. Chef Dixie (dixlee_ebanks@yahoo.com; 9556-7566) prepared an outstanding meal for us which was one of the highlights of our time in Roatan sitting around the dining room table in this gorgeous house right on the ocean enjoying the island flavors of coconut shrimp, conch fritters, island baked chicken, grilled barracuda, fresh sauteed local vegetables with rice and beans. She and her assistant were kind and easy to talk to. They were prompt, professional and cleaned up after themselves leaving the kitchen in good order. Sandy Bay is a great location if you are looking for lodging that is away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded beaches."

  • Satisfaction at Shalymar

"It is hard to know where to begin. The photos on line do not do this beautiful home justice. It is much more spectacular in person. We spent a week in this lovely location for our first visit to Roatan and would certainly reccommend it to all who would be interested in staying in a palace like setting overlooking the ocean. The house can easily handle four couples or a few families without any feeling of being crowded. Upon entering the house you are presented with a breathtaking view of the ocean. We instantly walked out to the infinity pool to take in the beautiful Carribean. We spent many times in this pool enjoying cocktails with the sound of the surf breaking on the coral shore line. The house presents itself as described. Four bedrooms, three baths, numerous amenities and during my time there the maid came in twice and a gentleman twice to maintain the integrity of the house. A wonderful gourmet kitchen for all you aspiring chefs allows you to create your culinary masterpiece. If you decide not to make the meal of your dreams the best beach in Roatan is a short walk away. You may enjoy many different restaurants and after having enjoyed the meal wander about to find a live band playing along the beach. I and a few friends managed to play a round of golf at the Black Pearl. I have been lucky enough to play golf at numerous locations around North America but found this course to have some of the most spectacular views I have encountered. (a quick shout out for you golfing fans intending on coming to Roatan) I could ramble on endlessly about the wonderful time I experienced in Roatan but the primary reason for this is to review the location. I can tell you if you decide to stay at this fabulous retreat, you will not be disappointed. It has everything you could ask for in a holiday get away. The house is immaculate and beautiful, the Iron coast setting is breathtaking, the community safe and friendly, the location convinient to the best beach in the Carribean. If you are looking at visiting Roatan this would be the property you would be raving about."
