  • Perfect House for a group

"This house was absolutely perfect. There were 7 adults in our group and felt that there was ample room in the house. There are 2 other homes on the property as well. We rarely saw the guests in either home. It felt very secluded. All bedrooms have air conditioning and mosquito nets on the beds. We opted to leave all the doors and windows open so we could feel the breezes. It was so pleasant. They provide bug spray and we used it to prevent bug bites. Some of us did get bites but they were not reapplying the spray. The house has many seating areas for you to socialize or lounge and several hammocks as well. The pool temperature was perfect and overlooks the ocean. Pool rafts too! We felt extremely safe with the gated house and guards. We left the house wide open all day and night. We did lock our bedrooms if we left for long periods of time. The staff are amazing and will assist you as little or as much as needed. Rosa and Pearl will cook for you anytime you like. We had the Shrimp Marsala and it was one of the best meals I have ever had. They have a pizza oven and one night all guests gathered for dinner. It was nice to get to meet new people. We had the pleasure of meeting Bruce and Nicky (the owners). They are very kind and fun couple! The wifi is free and works great! We got to use a 7 passenger van for the week and felt completely comfortable driving to various destinations. Fausto will help with any house needs such as taking garbage or placing the kayaks in the water. There are many snorkel gear sets and over 5 kayaks. You can walk down to the pier and Fausto will take care of the supplies. We took a boat trip and Hanford was our Captain. He was friendly and informative. He took us to Jade beach for snorkeling and to La Serina for lunch. One day he dropped the woman off at Paya Beach Resort while the men went fishing. Paya Beach Resort is for Naturists so you need to be screened before you can pay for a day pass $5. Even though we are not Naturists, we got the green light and we were able to enjoy the beautiful property for a few hours. We spent an afternoon at Havana beach which had no tourists, only locals. It was breathtaking. We had our driver take us to West Bay Beach for an afternoon. We soaked in the sun and had some lunch at a local restaurant with live music. We then hopped in a $3 water taxi to West End for dinner. A perfect property for a perfect vacation! Thanks Phil for everything!!"

"We recently enjoyed a wonderful week at Seagrove Retreat. So many activities from kayaking (singles/doubles with paddles provided) , great snorkeling nearby (gear provided), paddle boards, swimming in the pool or off the dock. Which is always refreshing. Junior, Franklin and/or Tommy (care takers, who are the best!) can arrange most anything you need. From shuttle to and from the airport, to stopping by a large grocery store, and boat taxis. Call Marvin for a boat trip down the coast line (highly recommend this) , or lunch at Hole In The Wall for lunch or other places. Spend your happy hour fishing from the deck of the casita or dock. Mostly small fish so for us catch and release, but much fun. Early in the morning you will see the school bus boat pick up children and a fisherman came by the dock to sell us lobster. Seagrove Retreat is peaceful and quiet, always a breeze so sitting on any of the decks provides a perfect place to relax and enjoy the view. The houses are tastefully decorated and furnished with all your needs. All was well maintained and clean. Make sure you stock up at the grocery store as Seagrove Retreat is in a beautiful secluded area, with a rocky road and steep hill to get in and out. There are a fair amount of stairs on the property, we just viewed it as daily exercise. The owners Paul and Julie are delightful and will answer all your questions. Looking forward to our next trip to Roatan and would definitely stay here again!"

  • The Caribbean as it should be !!!

"Wilmont Bay Retreat is the perfect place to stay on the perfect Caribbean Island to visit (Guanaja). This is the kind of place to go if you love nature, a pristine environment, and a lot of outdoor activities to participate in. It is not a place where you will be one of thousands of tourists trying to "hit all of the highlights" of a beach destination in a few short hours (cruise ports come to mind). If shopping malls and casinos are your preference, you better go elsewhere. Guanaja may be a little more difficult to get to than a lot of other Caribbean destinations, but that is probably what has enabled it to remain an unspoiled and off the beaten path kind of a destination. The extra effort is definitely worth it. Guanaja (and Wilmont Bay Retreat) are true tropical gems, and some of the few remaining ones in the Caribbean today. Activities that I participate in are Diving, Snorkeling, Kayaking, and Hiking, all of which are top-notch, with no crowds to deal with. You host (Cindy) does an excellent job acquiring your groceries before you arrive, which allows you more time for engaging in all of the activities that are awaiting you. One of my favorite times at Wilmont Bay Retreat is about 8pm - 10pm when it gets dark and the stars shine brightly overhead (and the waves roll onto shore). An hour or two of this relaxes the soul and prepares you for a great night's sleep on the extremely comfortable beds in the cottages. We have stayed at Wilmont Bay Retreat twice over the last few months and plan on going back every year, as often as we can. You will feel the same way once you have visited. I have stayed in many places on many islands and this is one of my favorites !!!"

  • Nice Stay

"Our stay at Villa delfin was a great experience. We stayed there for a week, in the Studio unit. There is a few other units on the property including the owners. Carleen and her husband were very friendly and even gave us a lift into town one day. As far as the property goes, it is quite nice and very well maintained and most of all very safe! The Studio apartment is great for a couple. It had all the necessary amenities we needed, and the large refrigerator was great for storing our drinks and food. There is also plenty of parking if you decide to rent a car or scooter which we did as we wanted to explore the island. The Studio sits on the 2nd floor, so you get a nice strong breeze in the evening which was nice. The apartments sits up in the jungle away from the beach. Although you can take a short walk down to the nearest beach area to catch a water taxi, but walking back up the pretty steep hill is not much fun. There are no stores or restaurants nearby, so you have to walk down and catch a water taxi or call one from your unit. Although I think there was a restaurant /resort down by the beach area but we did not try it. So if you prefer to be away from everything and everyone then this complex will be great for you. But if you like the convenience of all the options at West Bay or West end like we did, then you might want to stay closer to the hustle and bustle. We would definitely recommend this rental property to our friends and family. Thank you for your hospitality, Carleen! :D"
