  • Well appointed house in fabulous location

"We have just returned from an enjoyable month at Casa Rosita. This house has an amazing location - half block from the Cathedral and main square, one block to the restaurant row on Calzada, two blocks to the local market etc. The house is perfect for two couples as it has two air conditioned, queen bed, master bedrooms upstairs each with ensuite bath. The third bedroom has twin beds for overflow guests or children. Each master is well furnished with good linens, comfortable beds and flat screen tvs. The main floor has a spacious living area with comfortable seating for 5. The living room flat screen tv has several English channels and the wifi works well throughout the house. There is a well equipped kitchen with seating for 2-4 and a separate dining area seating 6. The plunge pool is perfect for cooling off as you step in the door. There is an assortment of colourful local art and ceramics to give the house character. The house is spotlessly maintained by Katia, and her husband, the house manager is available for airport pickups and day trip outings. Granada is a colourful and safe city with many restaurants and adventure outings available in the surrounding area."

  • Quiet place to stay, with a very nice view and close to the beach

"We stayed a week at this house with our 2 small children (3 and 6). The house is very open and nice to live in. The wind is blowing all the time specially at night so its very confortable. The beach is very close and nice to swim and to surf. The house was clean at our arrival and Eliza is cleaning also during the stay. Eliza is a really amazing cook so it's better to have her cook! She is cleaning afterward as well so it's a real vacation ! The city is not far but the road is bit rough. A car is ok though. The owner Mme Fiett, is absolutely lovely and helpful before and during the stay. We all loved our stay at villa Pavela. We highly recommend it !"

  • Really enjoyed our stay!

"We loved feeling like we were in the middle of all this rural life-the pigs sauntering by early morning, the chickens (maybe not the roosters), the cows and their caballeros on the beach and in the water. The caretakers, their children and dogs were so sweet. Karla made us a delicious meal one night and came back the next night to teach us how to make her delicious tostones. The house is basic but very functional and comfortable and has a lovely view and setting. It was nice to have bikes to ride and the bus stop is close though I wouldn't have minded having a car for a day or two for more exploring. Actually I could have used another day or two just to sit on the back porch and enjoy the view and the sound of urraka birds and the wind in the trees."

  • Amazing Family Vacation!

"Our family of five (2 adults and three kids ages 13, 13, 15) stayed at Villas Playa Maderas (Palmeras) for a week in March 2016. Our experience with this rental well exceeded our expectations in every way (and we had high expectations). To start with, Richardo was excellent to work with on the booking and payment. He was very accommodating and offered advice about the best time to come, transportation, meals, etc...the villa itself is exactly as described in the posting - yet, in many ways it is indescribable. The sunsets, the warm breeze off the water, the view, the sounds of the breaking waves, etc... Are difficult to put into words. The house was perfect for us in every way. It's open design was nice and yet everyone had their own privacy. The pool was absolutely perfect, clean, and refreshing and the view...is epic. Sharing the pool with another villa is no problem at all - we had a couple of neighbors and had a nice time getting to know them. And, the pool is plenty big. The location of the villas is fairly remote yet perfectly positioned between two fantastic beaches. The walk to the sand is 144 steps down the hill to the water. Maybe 2-3 minutes. Playa Maderas is only a short beach walk away where there are a couple nice restaurants with good food and cold beer. The beach is clean and beautiful. The surf shop at playa Maderas rents surf boards and most people go there to surf. We rented boards for about $5 for a couple hours. Lastly, the villa staff are really what makes the villa an amazing place to stay. Marie was very helpful / friendly and responded quickly to every request. She arranged for a couple of different staff members to cook for us for four nights - this was such a treat. The food was fantastic and very Nica authentic. Freshly caught fish, beans, rice, fresh veggies...wow. The security staff are very professional and friendly although their English is not very good - I tried to practice my Spanish pretty much every day and we often had a good laugh at my poorly articulated words. We felt very safe at all times - never a concern for us at all. Also, SJDS is a short taxi ride away and there's lots to do and see there. In general - I would highly recommend the Villas Playa Maderas for a family getaway as it really does have it all - the house, pool, beach, staff, and the view were all unforgettable."
