  • Beautiful space in a beautiful town

"Our family of 6 stayed at Casa Gallo for a short get-away. It was everything the pictures and reviews seem. Beautiful space and wonderful host (Jose and Maria Elena). Clean and quiet. We loved the city of Granada, but had trouble even leaving the paradise of the house because it was so relaxing and tranquil just to spend time in the open air kitchen/dining room, the open court yard, the balcony with the view and the wonderful pool. This is a great space for our family of teenage and adult children, but I think it would also make a great space for a friends get-away, or families with small children. Other details: WIFI was strong and reliable, air conditioning is perfect for the Granada heat and sun, and you are in walking distance of many delicious cafes, restaurants and shopping in Granada (although it's great to have the option to cook in the large kitchen at the house--stock up on supplies a La Colonial or Union right down the road. We didn't have Maria Elena cook for us, but after 6+ months of living here in Nicaragua I can tell you that Nica food is delicious and I am sure Maria Elena makes some great Gallo Pinto--so I would recommend that, as well, even though we didn't take advantage of that option). Highly recommend this home. Richard is great at getting back to guests about questions before the trip (thanks!) and Jose is a great source of information at the house and in town. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back."

  • Amazing and Wonderful

"We have returned from two weeks at this casa. This property was perfect for us. We visit Granada regularly and this was the best accommodations we have had. We hope when we return that we can stay here again. The casa was beautifully maintained by Douglas, the manager, and Yarelis. Douglas was helpful and responsive to any request. I can't say enough good things about Yarelis. She was amazing, kept the place sparkling and organized and was very sweet. My Spanish is very limited but we managed to talk a little which was fun. The house was so comfortable. It was very hot this visit so we were really thankful for the pool to dip into when we needed a quick cool down. And having the A/C in the bedroom was a haven to go to. And it was located where we could walk to our favorite restaurants and of couse La Calzada. All in all I would say that our visit to Granada and stay for two weeks was the best one yet, largely due to finding this gem to have as our home away from home. I highly recommend this casa to anyone visiting Granada that wants a safe, beautiful and very authentic Granadan place to stay"

  • Beyond Expectations

"Let me start by saying that Tamara goes above and beyond. The home is perfect and just as beautiful and scenic, or even more beautiful, than the photos! I went with my family last week and we have 2 children, a 1yr old and 3 yr old. Tamara went out of her way to get us a high chair and crib!!! She really is so helpful and just beyond amazing! I loved that there were 2 kayaks and pool toys and life jackets. Carlos and the cook and staff are always on site. For an extra charge you can get a cook and laundry service. Only cons I would say is that to run AC all day is a small fee, we needed more towels for pool and showering and our small car struggled up the driveway, which we were warned beforehand so get 4w or park up on top. My other regret is not staying at the home my entire stay! Just amazing and breath taking and centrally located. I will surely stay again!!!"

  • Granada Paradise!

"My husband, two kids (15 and 11) and I stayed at Hotel Xalteva for a week. We travel a great deal and we're extremely adventurous. We came to Granda to go volcano boarding and chose Granada as our home base. Our experience at Hotel Xalteva was absolutely amazing! I can't rave about it more. The location is in the middle of Granda, but you're encapsulated in an oasis of beauty! The hotel staff is first class. To say they're helpful, is a huge understatement. The continental breakfast under the pergola is divine and includes an assortment of fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, cakes, bread, fresh juice and coffee. It's perfection! The condos are impeccably clean and I'm picky! The condos are laid out well, beautiful, clean and have everything you need. I highly suggest arranging a home cooked meal brought in. The mother-in-law of Melissa, the manager, is am amazing cook. She made us rice, plantains, beans, pice de gallo, chicken, potatoes and carrots. We feasted on that for days! Shear heaven and perfect for us because our kids get sick of eating out. To reiterate, the staff (Melissa, Tania, Anna, Louis, etc.) are top notch. If you need anything, they will get it for you or make it happen. The pool is fantastic! I heard it's the best pool in Granada and I believe it. There's a guard at night who closes the doors at 8:30PM. You can ring the bell to get in. in other words, it's completely secure. You can easily walk to town, restaurants, the market, etc. I always felt safe in Nicaragua and we traveled to Leon, San Juan Del Sur, throughout Managua, Apoyo Lagoon, Mombacho and more. My 15 year old daughter declared this her favorite trip ever and that's saying a lot. A great deal of that has to do with Hotel Xalteva. If you're considering Nicaragua, you must stay here even if just for a few nights. I would like to be here for months! I can't wait to go back someday. One last thing-Melissa arranged for us to tour a school in the Islets. Amazing experience! That afternoon, my daughter and I did some shopping for items the director told us they need. Ezequiel, a friend to Hotel Xalteva, helped us get to the correct stores. Hotel Xalteva made everything easy and wonderful! I may cry when I leave. Before we even booked Hotel Xalteva, I spoke to Jay, the owner, and corresponded with him via email. He's very prompt with responding and couldn't have been more friendly. The entire experience was pure heaven and joy!"
