  • Un endroit de rêve !

"Wow! Bien que la maison soit un peu loin de tout, le site en vaut réellement la peine. La maison est propre et bien équipée, les lits sont confortables et que dire de la piscine à l'avant de la maison! Vous serez charmés par la mer, les chevaux, les chiens, le personnel sympathique et l'atmosphère paisible qu'offre cette maison. Les employés sur place ( dans notre cas David :)) sont très aidants et pourront répondre à vos demandes. Bref, un endroit idéal pour se ressourcer ."

  • A relaxing stay. We would come back to Casa Del Mar.

"We were a family of 5 (mom, dad, 1 teen, 2 20 somethings) looking for a quiet place on the beach, for the first part of our trip to Nicaragua. We found it in Las Penitas. Casa Del Mar (the name of the house) is simple, but great. In Nicaragua, a lot of living space is outside, and that is the way it is at Casa Del Mar. The eating area and hanging out area is beautiful, surrounded by lots of plants and you can see and hear the ocean. The kitchen is simple, but the gas stove works well, and the fridge is also in good repair (we cooked a number of meals and had no problems). If you are doing some of your own cooking, it is best to head into the grocery stores in Leon (La Union or Colonia) as the local stores we found were all very small...we took the chicken bus into town and then took a taxi back with our groceries. The bedrooms in the house are simple but ok. The upstairs bedroom with the balcony is great...nice view of the ocean and great to hear the waves all night. Las Penitas itself is small and very "local"...this is not a touristy spot. There are a number of decent restaurants in town...we enjoyed the Oasis (a few doors down), the Lazy Turtle, and Barca de Oro. We really enjoyed hanging out in the hammocks, swimming in the ocean, and surfing (surfing is really good)...also just walking down the main street to grab an inexpensive drink at one of the many little bars. We also did day excursions to Leon. Once we got to know the local Las Penitas people a bit, we realized how great they were...very honest, very friendly. Suzanne (the owner) sent a lot of info in advance of our trip, which was helpful. The caretakers for the house, Abel and Sorocco, were great! We even had Sorocco make dinner for us one evening, and that was wonderful. One thing to note: most people in Las Penitas only speak Spanish (naturally), so learn a little Spanish or bring Google Translate. We would go back to Las Penitas, and we would be happy to stay in Casa Del Mar again."

  • Experience of a Lifetime

"We cannot say enough about our wonderful stay at Villa Suenos! It was easy to get to with a driver pre arranged to take us from the airport in Managua to Leon to get groceries at the western grocery store and then to the doors of the Villa. It is a beautiful accommodation with everything you need this far from home. The main living area and kitchen was spacious and supplied with all you need to make your stay stress free. The Rancho and pool area was gorgeous and the perfect place to spend your hot vacation days. From naps in the hammocks to pool fun this is the place for just that. The large bedrooms had queen beds and spacious bathrooms with hot showers. Each room had its separate entrance so if you're with a group you never disturb anyone as you come and go. Gorgeous views of the ocean right from your doorway. There were 4 couples on our recent trip to Nicaragua and it was the perfect accommodations. You are steps away from a large beach and ocean. The location of the Villa was easy access to Leon or Las Penitas by local bus and taxis home. There were plenty of local food stores and restaurants within walking distance. The people in the village were kind and friendly, we always felt safe here. You can spend your days doing nothing but soaking up the warm sun, having a massage right on the property or going on tours of the rum factory or the adrenalin boosting volcano boarding! Antonio and Kenai the caretakers are so kind and very accommodating to anything you need or want to do. They were the most gracious hosts and we loved having conversations with them even though we didn't speak spanish. They go above and beyond! We had Kenai's mom Flor cook us a delicious supper one evening. We highly recommend you choosing Villa Suenos for your Experience of a Lifetime vacation in the beautiful country of Nicaragua"

  • Beautiful and Modern Beachfront Home

"I stayed at Casa Linda for a week over the Holidays and it was definitely a highlight of my trip in Central America. The house is very spacious, super clean, has all the necessary amenities and more. It is right on the beach which was amazing and the pool is a great bonus for the hot Nicaragua weather. We felt very safe staying here, the house having security cameras and being fully gated. The hosts are also very friendly and welcoming people who made us feel right at home. I would recommend anyone who is visiting Nicaragua to stop in Las Penitas and stay at Casa Linda, it was truly an amazing experience."
