  • fantastic

"When my kids walked through the house and glimpsed the ocean, in unison they exclaimed - "this is awesome". Seven days later we left with the same sentiment - and a collective desire to return. Roger was great, as we asked nuance questions of where we could find things which were off the beaten path, or where to get a flat tire fixed, or where we could finds locally caught fish. We all surfed, ate fresh fruit, sat in the sun and enjoyed ourselves. We will most certainly be back - and would recommend both Nicaragua and this location to anyone."

  • Overall good time!

"This property is really nice! Very clean and right on the beach. The pool is great as well. As someone who didn't know much about Nicaragua before arriving, I just wanted to comment that Hacienda Iguana is a resort village and there is really not much inside of it. You'll need to rent a car if you want to go explore anywhere else or to go to town to get groceries to cook. It's really a place for relaxing by the pool and surfing the massive waves. The owner is great at helping organize rides however you can definitely find cheaper ones if you just ask around (we were going to pay $150 USD for 5 people to San Juan Del Sur and ended up paying $60 USD). Overall had a great stay here though, really relaxing!"

  • What an amazing place!

"I just got back from staying here for a week and it was fantastic. The views were far reaching and one could clearly see Playa Santana and Mag Rock from the back patio. The pool and rooms were clean. I liked that it felt secluded, but was so close to all of the amenities of Rancho Santana. It's nice being able to be the first to ride Santana every morning. I would recommend having your own wheels for this location. I'll be staying there again soon!"

  • Rest and Relaxation in Nicaragua

"My wife and I stayed at Hacienda Iguana for 9 days and it couldn't have been any better. Robert the property manager was always around to answer questions or give advice on anything. We went with the meal plan and had Julio prepare breakfast and Dinner for us. We cut lunch out after the first day because it was just too much food to eat 3 big meals a day. He is fantastic chef and even a better person. The last night he made Lobster for us and it was delicious. You can cook for yourself as well, but I would recommend having Julio prepare your meals. He even cleans up after serving so you don't have to do anything but enjoy the meal. The Condo itself is spacious and well laid out. The deck is ample big enough for 4 people to comfortably sit on. We spent many evenings sitting out on the deck watching the sunset and listening to the waves roll all while sipping on a rum. All of your simple amenities are supplied and the condo is cleaned every other day. Iguana Golf and Beach club is a gated community and is quite large. The beach is approximately 2 miles long and at any given time there are less than 50 people on it. No crowds to fight for space what so ever. At low tide you can walk to a couple of other beaches to the south as well. A visit to Grenada and the markets in Masaya are a must. Also take a tour of the Masaya Volcano at night. This really topped the vacation off. Seeing the flowing lava in the darkness was fascinating. In closing if you want a relaxing vacation without the crowding of large resorts, this is the place. We would highly recommend Hacienda Iguana. John"
