  • So Relaxing!

"What a stunning place to stay and explore the surrounding beauty! We had a girls retreat there and the casita is perfect for friends to come together! The pool is awesome to chill out and keep cool. The beaches in the area are amazing and so much fun for body surfing! San Juan del Sur is a fantastic town with so may great restaurants and shops. Local artisans and business owners offer a wonderful shopping experience without a single 'branded' store or hotel in site. Such a treat in a time where big chains seem to dominate. We enjoyed open air yoga classes and massages at a few wonderful spots around the area. Talk about a relaxed spa experience! The casita is so well appointed. We were able to have breakfast and lunch there and then head out for dinner in town, although we went to the local fish market and make dinner at home one night. So great to sit and watch the sunset on the amazing outdoor patio, where we ate all our meals. There is always a breeze to help keep you cool! Zip-lining and horseback riding were also a highlight for the girls! Come and enjoy a wonderful place with a truly laid back vibe!"

  • Great place, great people, great owner

"I grew up going to Huehuete for many years and Huehuete itself is kind of ugly now, but this part of the beach where the house is, is a whole different story, the beach is way nicer, the few houses surrounding have a different vibe and the place itself its really nice, I would recommend anyone looking to be out of the grid for some time to seriously consider coming to this place. The only thing missing for me would be an internet connection, but it can a be a plus if you think about it ;) Louise is really cool, and the people taking care of the place couldn't be nicer. • Spacious home with amazing views of Playa Coco

"My family and I reserved this home for 5 nights in the month of June. The home is quite spacious with 3 rooms, each having a king size bed, and individual air conditioning units in each room. There were 2 full size bathrooms (1 shared between two rooms) which included vanity, toilet and shower. The living room/kitchen/dining room were in one great big space and all appliances were modern and sufficient to cook any type of meal. The home also came equipped with a television with satellite programing which kept the kids entertained with all their familiar programs. What made the house memorable was the patio overlooking the beach, with views as far as Costa Rica. Besides a full dining room table and chairs, the rocking chairs, outdoor couches and the hammock were perfect for spending the evening outdoors looking over the beach and listening the sounds of the ocean. The beach was very calm and perfect for the kids to run around and enjoy themselves. There are basic services near the beach including a restaurant, gift shop, and minimarket all located about 500m from the house. There was also a pool at "Puesta del Sol" restaurant that's perfect for people that don't want to spend all day in the ocean, but unfortunately it was closed for us due to maintenance. It's important to be aware of a few things regarding the location of the property before making any reservations. First, while only being located about 20 km from San Juan del Sur, it takes approximately 30 mins to arrive from the junction to San Juan. The first 15 mins are travelled over cobblestone roads, but the next 13 km is over unpaved roads. Some areas are quite rocky and I would suggest a 4X4 to arrive easier, especially the entrance to the property which is required to climb two steep ascents of 45° from the road to the home. Second, it is imperative that you have your own transportation to enjoy this part of Nicaragua. There are virtually no services near by, so travelling to San Juan is essential for anything including groceries, bank, medical services, etc. Finally, being that it is remotely built in the wild, be prepared to see all sorts of lizards and bugs inside and outside of the home, including moths, geckos, mosquitos, mantis, wasps, butterflies, spiders, flies and scorpions. This was a deal breaker for my wife and couldn't enjoy the last few days of our stay. The view is stunning and the house is spacious, but remember to keep expectations in check and enjoy Nicaragua!"
