  • Unsuspecting

"We pulled up at Casa Tranquila and from the look of the building you don't know what to expect, but opened the gate to this beautiful home. You couldn't have asked for a nicer place open air kitchen ,pool and all amenities necessary for your stay. The staff at GPS property management was great any ?s were answered via email or phone promptly also. We would definitely stay again and encourage any one else to also . Thanx Pasquale"

  • Amazing Stay right near beach and town

"Our stay at Mike and Tammi's place could not have been better! After a few days camping in Ometepe, it was beyond refreshing to arrive at the luxury of their gorgeous casa. Large comfy beds, amazing breeze, fantastic HOT water pressure (and after 9 days in Nicaragua, I had almost forgotten how wonderful a hot shower could be. Glorious!). The WiFi worked perfectly, both fridges were nice and cold. So much of what is missing from my NYC life was found in abundance here: huge outdoor deck with open air kitchen, bar, BBQ, private pool and amazing views (from the deck AND all the bedrooms). Waking up to howler monkeys, and swigging 50 cent beers all day long. Ahhhhhh. The pool is a bit small for laps, but such an incredible way to cool off and relax any time of day. Loved! I would say this place is perfect if you want to be away from the noise and the dirtier places to stay in town, but still want to enjoy the nightlife of San Juan Del Sur. If you want to be in the middle of things, then this is not the place for you. But I thought the location was perfect. People kept telling us the walk to town was 15-20 minutes, but it took us a solid 30, and I tend to walk fairly quick. So in general, we would walk to town from the house and then taxi back (it's not a bad walk at all, if a bit hot in the middle of the day. When you come out of the gate at the entrance to the community, head left down the main Chocolata Road. After about 15-20 minutes, you will come to a fork. to the left is a highway sign that reads 'San Juan Del Sur' - don't go that way. Instead, head to the right and that will lead you after about a minute walk to the edge of the beach and the start of town. You may need to wade through some shallow water to cross over - which should feel good by then!) We also found it pretty easy to hitch a ride to town, when we were too relaxed (aka: lazy) to walk. So no problemo! And you also have a quieter beach right near the house, if you just want to stay near the house all day - which we did more than once, cuz we just couldn't tear ourselves away! My only advice to Mike and Tammi would be to get a side lamp into the bedrooms. No big deal, but it made reading at night rather hard. ;) Thanks again for having us! I'll be back!"

  • 10/10

"“This is quite possibly the most beautiful place we have ever stayed. The beach is pretty much private. The views exceptional. Because of the big island in front of the bay the waves are not very intimidating so it's great for swimming and snorkelling. The cleaning lady was very hard working and friendly as was the 24h security guard. Iain was always available to help us set up activities. We are already talking about renting it again.”"

  • Spacious studio with great location

"Spacious studio very close to Calle Calzada but far enough that we weren't bothered by the late night revellers, if there were any. Great location for us as we were able to walk around, explore the city and get our regular runs in by going down the lake and back. I was also able to walk to a nearby gym. All the must have features we look for when we book our accommodations. Apartment had pretty much everything we needed. Liliam, the manager was only a phone call away. Chris the owner was overseas but always responded promptly. We requested AC but really didn't need it as apartment was cool and breezy when fan was on and windows open. No hot shower but again didn't need it as Granada was very hot during the day when we there. Wished there was a dipping pool on site but for 10 USD you could go to Hotel Granada and use theirs for the day. Our only complain would be the noisy mattress...every time my husband moved the spring would make a horrible loud sound and I am a very light sleeper :("
