  • trip of a lifetime!

"we had a ball at casa sueno during a weeklong spring break there w/ 5 families. (two of us were fortunate to stay at casa sueno and the others stayed in nearby homes that are part of the ecolodge community.) we gathered nightly at casa sueno for group dinners & talent shows performed by the kids. all in all, it was a fun filled week that the kids & adults alike will remember always! we got used to the good, simple life: daily yoga, massages, beach walks, hammock naps and fun activities like surfing & horseback riding. there is no shortage of things to do, all in a gorgeous, pristine setting. we hope to get back someday soon!"

  • Wave Garden in Paradise

"Great house, prime location & wonderful staff! Wave Garden easily accommodated 6 couples very comfortably. The pool and ocean vista are gorgeous. The location is ideal being a couple doors down from the charming beach bar and restaurant. We were greated by Seth who checked in with us immediately & was very attentive throughout our stay. Liz helped coordinate meals, arrivals, taxis, finances and even credited us a slight overpayment. We took advantage of the meal plan with two fabulous cooks- Amilcar & Keneth. I highly recommend doing some lunches and dinners with them. They cook, clean & were our inside connection to ice when it couldn't be found at the local shops. The house cleaner Aileen is so sweet & helpful- all our needs were taken care of. Our whole stay felt safe, clean, fun & hassle free. We all agreed we would rent again in a heart beat. Loved Wave Garden!!!"

  • Nicest beach front surf rental in Jiquilillo!

"My husband, 7 year old daughter, 3 year old son and I rented the Portugal's place for almost one month. We had already been in Nicaragua for a month prior and we're ready for a beach front property. This place met our expectations! It was gorgeous, the pictures don't do justice. Upon our (early) arrival the caretakers along with Bodi (owner's son) and his wife were there to greet us. Bodi had us set up with surfboards in a flash and we were able to surf that day. He included a boogy (body) board for the kids which they had a blast on. The beach is amazing, so clean compared to other beaches that we had been prior. There was a rocky area to the right of the house that the kids enjoyed exploring the tide pools and collecting beautiful shells and rocks. It is the one of the best surf spots in Jiquilillo from begginner to advanced waves. Bodi a former surf instructor even gave me some very helpful surf tips when while in the water one day... Thank-you! The house was a great size for the four of us. We cooked our own meals and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. We barely used the living room as the outside seating was deluxe with an amazing ocean view and beautiful sunsets every night. There were hammocks for lounging too! We had people comming up to us asking us about our rental quite often. Just down the street we were able to buy the basics along with coconut bread and pizza for a treat. There were people selling donuts, corn tortillas, and ice cream. Occasionally a fruit and veggie truck would come by and we would stock up. The caretakers were amazing in helping us find what we needed and were very friendly. The kids enjoyed playing with their children as well as the local kids. We would definitely rent this place again if we travel to Nicaragua again, it's a long way from Canada but such a wonderful experience. Thank-you Sue, Franklin, Bodi."

  • Good 2br 2 bath

"We stated here 12/17-12/20, 2016. The rental is the upstairs portion of this house. It was a nice 2 bedroom 2 bath place right at the edge of town. Basic kitchen utinsils were provided, and huge container of purified water was provided, which was very useful. Towels provided, bedrooms have AC, shower has hot water. Wifi worked. It is only a short walk to town, albeit a pretty steep one coming back. The steep part is paved though, and there was no problem with getting up with our rental vehicle. We had 4wd but didn't need it there. At night it was a pretty dark walk, but you can catch a taxi back at night if you want. There was a parking spot available for our rental car. There was a.condo being constructed next to our parking spot and close to the house. However we felt like the rate was reduced accordingly. The construction was only during the day and none on Sunday. One night we came back to find that we couldn't get into our parking spot without blocking the car in the other spot (used for the lower floor of the house I believe) bc a concrete box was there; however, when I sent a WhatsApp message to the local property manager, he immediately contacted the contractor, who promptly had it moved even though it was about 9-10 pm. The local property manager was super nice and helpful, as was the owner. The local property manager was very fluent in English. Nice view from the balcony and den/kitchen area, and a nice pool shared with the people staying in the first floor. The condo under construction seems to be moving along rapidly, so I can't speak for the future of that situation. However, if Emer is the local property manager, I feel certain that he will straighten any problem a renter may have. We are happy we stayed here and would stay here again."
