  • The Hostess with the Mostest

"We had such a wonderful time staying at Casa las Olas. The home is like staying in a tree house. It was exactly the relaxing vacation that our family needed. We cooked almost all meals at home, watched movies, read books and loved the pool with the ocean view. Not only was the home the perfect getaway for our family of four, the hosts Marilyn and Jerry Johnson were beyond patient with my many questions about Panama. They really gave our family the inside track on things to do and places to go. A fishing expedition was the highlight of the trip, and the opportunity to share the fish for dinner provided one of the most memorable experiences. I know that I was saved countless headaches by the insider information that they gave our family. They are truly incredible hosts, and I believe that our Panama experience was all the richer for meeting them."

  • Refreshing, Rejuvinating, Relaxing, truly a Mountaintop Experience

"We count ourselves so fortunate to have been able to spend 11 days (Feb 2016) in this paradise setting up in the mountains just a few minutes drive from Boquete (known to be one of the top 5 retirement places in the world ). Comfortable temperatures, an unparalleled view over the valley, comfort without end in the meticulously clean, private guest cottage (wall to wall glass overlooking the amazing views ), each morning savoring the best coffee in Panama right from this private plantation - and to top it all off - Randy, a caring, personable man who really wants you to experience the best this amazing area has to offer. His suggestions as to where to hike, where to find the greatest places to eat, where to see incredible waterfalls in the jungle, and much more, made this vacation an adventure absolutely worth repeating. And we are so ready to do that. Each evening upon our return from another of his "custom designed" suggestions ( from jungle hikes to towering hidden waterfalls, refreshing swims where the stream cut a deep channel in the lava, to joining a fascinating coffee tour given by one of the oldest coffee growing plantations in Panama) he would drop by and find out how our day had gone and what our highlights had been. Folks, this is an opportunity that is so rare - grab it."

  • Everything I hoped for!

"I just got back from a fantastic Panama Vacation! The 4 day stay at Bluff Beach Resort could not have been any more enjoyable! My girlfriend and I stayed 2 nights in the secluded Las Palmas Casita and 2 nights in the main beach house Las Olas master bedroom. If you prefer to be a little isolated away from the main house, then Las Palmas is the way to go. There is no AC in any of the rooms but you really don’t need it with the nice ocean breezes and fans. The sounds of the jungle mixed with the waves crashing on the shore were just surreal. The property is gorgeous and fits so naturally in the surroundings. I especially love the how the paths were lit during the night. It gave such a magical walk through the tropical vegetation. A beautiful, quiet beach is just steps away from the front of the property. On the way back from the beach, I showered outside and took a dip it their fantastic pool then sipped cool drinks with fresh limes from their farm under the thatched umbrellas. We also took an afternoon ride on the horses that were available. The horses were beautiful and well behaved. The guide was very considerate of my girlfriend who had never ridden a horse. We stopped for a refreshing dip at a beautiful secluded spot on the far side of the island. On the way back our guide even pointed out a monkey in a tree that we would have never seen! The inn keepers, Steve and Karen, really made a huge impression on me. I have stayed at other B&B in the past but Steve and Karen stand out as the best! I felt more like family than a guest. They went above and beyond hospitality by picking us up at the airport, taking us shopping, arranging local tours and taxis, and offering rides when going into town. They were always willing to share their abundant knowledge of the area with stories that entertain as well as inform. Steve even got up in the middle of the night to help a stranded Taxi driver that was stuck in the sand on the only road on our side of the island. I was also very impressed with how respectful they spoke and interacted with the local workers, who did not speak English. You can tell how everyone loved their jobs by how clean and well maintained the property is. Needless to say, they are just wonderful people that will make sure you enjoy this beautiful place."

  • Fantastic - absolutely deserves 5 stars

"We had 5 glorious days and nights here in May 2016. Ann, Bob and the 3 wonderful dogs greeted us as if we were friends, showed us the amazing apartment - and then allowed us to enjoy their beautiful property as if it was our own. They appear when you need them, but also leave you to have a totally relaxing, and private vacation. Ann and Bob have actually lived in the apartment, and now live in the house above it - and therefore they know it contains everything you could possibly need to make your vacation amazing. Food and drink in the fridge, cooking ingredients in the cupboard, every electrical and cooking appliance you could need, books, games, DVDs, beach and pool toys, plus the apartment is absolutely spotless and the beds super-comfortable. We bought groceries on the way in David - and our days were spent on the beach and in the pool. Everyone who rents out a holiday home should stay here - this is the best of the best!"
