  • Perfect for families! Best in Bocas!

"Our stay at Lucas and Gloria's place was more than amazing!! We decided to make a last minute trip to Bocas from Puerto Viejo. We planned to stay for only 4 nights, but loved it so much, we had to extend to a week, and then really wished we had time for a month or two. Lucas and Gloria were easily able to accommodate our family of 5 and they were such wonderful hosts. The house was very clean, everyone was comfortable and we had plenty of space. Our kids absolutely loved it here! The hammock in the living room was a hit with everybody. We got to see monkeys up close every day, and a lot of cool birds we had never seen. One of our favorite parts were the coconut trees! We absolutely loved the fresh coconut water and coconut meat every day. And to be able to get fresh eggs from the hens was great as well. We were also thankful that we were able to do our laundry when we needed. We loved the location- far enough from town so we weren't in the middle of parties and crowds, but close enough to get there easily when we needed to. Lucas also arranged for a boat tour with a local guy and Gloria called a taxi for us when we needed to leave. They had great advice for us on beaches and cool local spots to go to. We definitely got a lot more out of our stay than we would have in a hotel! So thankful that we found this gem!"

  • Stunning Condo; Relaxing Lifestyle

"The property is just stunning; very well maintained. The condo itself is beautifully appointed. My favorite spot was under the Paradise Found sign on the spacious deck, where I must admit I fell asleep several nights in the soft warm air. The pool was always a refreshing dip after the ocean swim. I must warn you that the sand is from lava rock and somewhat course. The ocean temperature is perfect, but be careful of the rip tides and be prepared for some strong waves. Jaco is a surfing destination after all! The food is fantastic; produce as fresh as can be, flavorful and delicious, whether you cook for yourself or eat out."

  • Great time!

"My three teens and I stayed at the treehouse for five nights and had a great time. The place is gorgeous! Local staff were quick to help when a toilet clogged. The hosts left boogie boards out for our use, which was awesome. On-site laundry is great. Kitchen is well-equipped and I cooked frequently, made my morning coffee, etc. You must have a car. Beautiful wild beaches are minutes away for surf & sunsets. Great ceviche at nearby Playa Negra Cafe. A quick drive (45 minutes) brings you to very different beaches, calm and crystal clear, perfect for swimming & snorkeling. (Tip One: if you don't like insects, there are some grasshoppers, etc., around but keeping the lights off at night in open areas helps keep them away. Tip Two: late afternoon may be a good time to catch the howler monkeys; half a dozen of them romped and fed one late day after a rain when we put off going to the beach, such a treat!) We also had an adorable frog who hung out in one of the bathrooms. We'd peek in every day to say good morning. :) All in all, it's a real treasure, this treehouse, and I'd love to go back."

  • Nicest place to stay in Santa Teresa

"My wife, Dallas and I arrived at Andy's and Cota's Villas the morning of December 31. We had really done our homework looking at different places in Costa Rica and we kept coming back to Surf Vista Villas. Dealing with Andy and Cota was comfortable, both were willing to give honest and excellent information about the Restaraunts and Sodas in the area. They were also very helpful with areas to tour. The area is simply beautiful with lots of different things to do. The Villa itself was very nice with the added surprise of the pool that was installed in November. If we weren't going somewhere for the day, we would go to the ocean in the morning, back to the pool for part of the afternoon and then back to the ocean for the awesome sunsets in the evening and then out for dinner. Santa Teresa itself is basically 1 long road, mostly dirt. Very safe and friendly with lots of nice places to eat, you just have to ask Andy. We only had 2 bad meals out of the 13 nights there and they were places that we decided to try on our own. While we were there, there were people from all over the world staying at Surf Vista Villas. Most people were really nice while a couple of people were more interested in staying to themselves, which worked out well because of the privacy each Villa had. Andy had an ATV that we rented for the whole time which was the best way to get around. If you like surfing then Santa Teresa is the place to be. We didn't surf but there was plenty of places to explore and relax. We will be going back."
