Carlsbad cottage rentals

In 2024 we stayed in the same development but were not happy with the property itself. The location is beyond perfect. You are less then a mile from Carlsbed Beach and a 5 minute walk to Grandview Beach. The entrance to the development has a famous donut shop seconds away and is a perfect place for coffee and donuts and a light breakfast. The house itself is so adorable and has air conditioning and heat, a new washer and dryer and one of the most comfortable beds I have had for a vacation rental. My favorite is a great sized Television. They also provide you with all the kitchen utensils you will need. The patio is adorable and very lush. I also love we can bring our dogs. The owners are so gracious and go beyond to answer and questions and just simply are great people. There is a ralphs supermarket less then 2 miles away in carlsbed and has a great little italian take out and a starbucks and much more. You are literally on the coast highway and there is so much to do. Take advantage of this hidden gem.keith and gretchen

We hated the Del Mar Cottage the minute we walked in - hated that we would eventually have to leave this beautiful, clean and inviting space. We’ve stayed at numerous beach houses and vacation homes; this house is special. Location and proximity to the beach, shops in town and the neighboring communities is unparalleled. Everything you need or want is accounted for, and the host gave spot on recommendations. You should seize the opportunity to stay here if you can. Truly a gem.

It's very rarely that we get sad about leaving a rental property. This place felt like home, our host felt like family. It was a perfect weekend!

The Hideaway Retreat was an ideal space to stay in Carlsbad and celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary and attend the Carlsbad Street Fair. The cottage offers everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Onsite parking in a private driveway, clear communication with the owner, fully stocked kitchen, living, and sleeping areas, and high walkability to nearby shops and restaurants are reasons to stay here. We traveled with our 15 year old senior pup, who enjoyed exploring the enclosed backyard and daily morning trips to Maxton Brown Park located less than a block from the cottage. Deanna, the owner, put much thought into the amenities that make a successful vacation rental. One being the spa-like shower head and tranquil bathroom offering a nice way to start and end the day. The other is a compact Weber gas grill situated on a raised wagon wheel table. We cooked our anniversary dinner of seared Norwegian salmon, local swordfish, jumbo scallops, and zucchini on it. It was a special meal and best way to celebrate 20 years together. We drank great coffee and beer, ate delicious food, and got a healthy dose of exercise exploring the adjacent Carlsbad Village area. We met and had great conversations with many locals who live in and around the area. If you're not sure what to do or need suggestions, Deanna texted a list of activities and put together additional information in a well kept binder on the TV stand. We hope to return soon for more relaxation and exploration in Carlsbad.

It was a clean quaint rental, perfect for a weekend getaway.

This was our second time here and really like the location. Walking distance to every thing we wanted. Well equipped with a fun decor. Nice hang out space in the back. Hope to stay again!

This house is extremely clean with a super host. Location was perfect for our needs. Description is accurate that 3rd person is on a pull-out bed in the living room. Probably my fault that I thought the ad photo meant that the ocean was within sight. It is just an outside mural installed near the door. Description accurately says a 2 block walk to the beach. Rear yard artfully made private & decorative with fountains, table & chairs, etc. Host is very responsive to needs & questions. Gives great advice on area restaurants & anything else you'd need to know. Felt safe.

This property in a rural setting was perfect for us for a few months while we were house hunting. The back deck had a great view overlooking many palm trees. The owner was so prompt in helping us out when any problems arose. Would stay there again.
