  • Beautiful Tardis Cottage in Sedbergh

"My wife and I had the pleasure in staying at Tardis cottage for three nights over the Easter holiday. For us, the location in Sedbergh was perfect for exploring the Lakes District. It is far enough away so that there is no traffic/congestion but close enough to reach popular areas by car. The owners Neil and Sue, were very responsive which made booking very simple. They were both home (at their cottage next door) to greet us upon arrival and helped us to get settled in the cottage. The cottage is just the right size for two. It was spotlessly clean and there were biscuits and milk provided. The well appointed kitchen was just right, although I wish it had a microwave oven. I was slightly concerned about the cottage location which is directly on the street, but it is not busy with traffic or noise at all. There is not a dedicated parking space with the cottage, but we found free street parking 50 yards away. There is a parking permit provided in case you need to park in a local car park. The pictures and description found on the website are very accurate. The bed was a good size and very comfortable. Shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The downstairs sitting area is very comfortable and cosy. There are electric heaters on thermostat and a wood burning fireplace. Wifi provided was stable and very adequate for browsing and email, but in my experience not quite fast enough for streaming. There are many books and fliers for local activities as well as some games and puzzles. During our stay, we ate at the Chinese take away restaurant which was average, but very reasonably priced. We had a great meal at the pub on the corner, the Dalesman. We found the food and service to be excellent. It was not inexpensive for a pub, but we felt it was a good value. I would recommend Tardis Cottage to anyone looking for a base in the Lakes District.Neil and Sue were charming hosts who clearly care about their guests."

  • Perfect location and very cosy.

"Arrived in rain and sleet, easy to find and park outside, once inside this delightful quirky and warm cottage it was lovely to curl up in the living room and have a cup of tea.It is situated a few yards from the shops, pubs and chippie, very nice village and a warm welcome from the locals."

  • Would stay here agian

"Clean spacious cottage with everything you will need. Perfect location for discovering Teesdale and only 40 odd mins from the Lakes. Blacksmiths Arms not too far for a nightcap. Didn't find a local shop in Mickelton but Middleton just down the road has a (pricey) Co-op."

  • Always excellent

"This is our fourth stay at the property and every time has been excellent, nothing is too much trouble and the home made cakes, bread, marmalade etc. have always hit the spot. The property is very well maintained and in our opinion lacks for nothing. The location is excellent with one of the best pubs in the dales is but a stones throw away (The Bridge), great food, great beer and brilliant people. We love this property and we will definitely be back for further visits."
