  • Excellent location from which to explore Oxford and the surrounding area

"The cottage, which is located on the grounds of Blenheim Palace, was once a gate keepers cottage. It sits on a small river at the end of a long drive. It is beautifully decorated and is well maintained. It has a wonderful Old England feel ( small rooms, low ceilings, fireplaces in the dining and living rooms). The kitchen is well equipped and the technology works well (WiFi, TV, audio etc). The owner has provided a wealth of information about the local area which was useful. There are numerous good restaurants within the area and there is a local supermarket 5 mins away by car if you choose to cook at the cottage. We were there for a week and would have stayed longer if we could."

  • Everything we hoped for

"My wife and I had Orchard Cottage for 2 weeks through March 30, 2017. The location was ideal for seeing our various family members. The village of Northmoor was lovely and the local pub, The Red Lion, was all it was cracked up to be. The owners of the cottage, Mary Ann and Richard, were very nice to us and made us welcome. The cottage was clean and well furnished with dish washer and washing machine, microwave, TV and excellent Wi-Fi. Mobile phone reception for 3 was good about 30 feet to the right of the front door by the gate. We really enjoyed our stay and should we brave the long flights, security, customs, immigration, jet lag, car rental and right hand drive cars we would definitely stay in Orchard cottage again. Highly recommended."

  • Lovely, Cozy Home away from Home

"Everything was wonderful! The house was perfect for us, and the surrounding walks were wonderful. What a wonderful surprise to have Carol's fresh eggs, milk, butter and bread ready for us when we arrived! The kitchen was very well-equipped, and we cooked several meals for the 8 of us, a money saver for sure! We loved just staying in, playing board games and having our tea 'at home' as much as we enjoyed the surrounding areas. Just out the door and across the lane, a footpath leads through open fields, past horses and sheep to Stow-on-the-Wold. We could also walk to the 'local' Horse and Groom Pub for an easy dinner after a day of sightseeing. Emmanuel was so helpful, especially by providing so much info ahead of time, so we knew what to expect on arrival. A great stay!"

  • Fabulous

"I cannot recommend this cottage highly enough. It's in a beautiful and peaceful location. It's been nicely converted and the addition of the external hot tub raises it to a higher league. Great location for lots of attractions. The owners Jane and John are very accomadating and the little touches like freshly baked croissants on arrival add a lovely personal touch. Can't wait to return."
