  • Quiet, with the bus stop 10 meters away!

"Thought it might be noisy with the location, but found it very quiet. Had everything one needed. Excellent location for bus to enter town center with a ten minute or less ride. Also had a short wait (less than ten minutes) to catch a bus to London! Very nice owner and even had a snack waiting for us! It appeared recently renovated and was very clean. Many thanks for making this a pleasant experience!"

  • Our Stay in Stonesfield

"Our family stayed at Stonesfield for my husband's 60th birthday celebrations and it really helped to make this a memorable weekend. The house was as described and more, particularly as the owner had gone to the trouble of putting up Christmas decorations and the tree for our celebrations. She also made sure that we had extra crockery etc for a party with additional guests on the Saturday evening, as well as bedding for a couple of extra guests staying over. The Arctic BBQ was a hit - great fun, and plenty of room for about 18 to sit round inside, very cosy! All in all, a great place - well equipped and maintained, and with a homely feel, and the owner couldn't have been more helpful."

  • A lovely place to stay

"Mark and Janet were very welcoming and could not do enough for us. The cottage is in a lovely setting and the fact that we could walk onto the Blenheim Palace estate was a bonus. Woodstock is a very nice old town and we found the location ideal for visiting Bicester, Oxford and beyond. The cottage is beautifully furnished and equipped with everything we needed for our three-day stay. We will definitely stay again if we return to this area and would recommend it to anyone."

  • Beautiful Farm cottage near heart of Oxford

"My teenaged daughter and I spent a week here in December. It was beautiful to be in the cold foggy countryside, in the heart of a working farm on the banks of the Thames, yet only a short walk across Port Meadow from the heart of Oxford. We didn't have a car and didn't need one. I walked her to her school in town past ponies, runners, and waterfowl every day. Rachel and her family were perfect hosts. She even got a floor lamp for me so I could read better by the fire in the evenings. If you're looking for slick and fancy, this isn't it. But it's authentic and clean and cozy, with a well-equipped kitchen and everything you need to go back in time, with the Thames path on your doorstep, chickens in the yard, and families living on houseboats as your neighbors. One note: if you're over 6'2", be prepared to duck your head to get from room to room! Like most traditional cottages, the doorways are low. We can't wait to come back here in the spring or summer."
