  • Lovely house, large rooms, good location

"The house is located in a central location within walking distance to the beach and town. We were concerned about the parking (on the street) but in fact it was fine with no trouble at all. The house is of a great size, rooms are large and is big enough for a large group. There were items left (washing up liquid, cleaners, condiments, soaps etc) the things you'd normally forget which was nice that you didn't have to rush out and get. Was a nice touch. We have family in the area so somewhere we'd definitely think of using again."

  • Home from Home

"This is an excellent holiday home, in fact a ho e from home place. Spotlessly clean, warm and very well appointed. We loved our stay and especially the milk tea and pack of chocolate biscuits there waiting on our arrival. For that get away accommodation, this is the one. Highly recommended. The only disappointment is the pub just around the road. Food is OK but the atmosphere is not very welcoming. Best try The Mill House in Alerburgh."

  • Lovely Stay

"Lovely home, stunning location, friendly host Denise was friendly and helpful and though not present, her instructions about obtaining the key and using things were clear and useful. She was always at the end of the phone and she and her husband were unfazed when the washing machine stopped working (it restarted later!). We had a wonderful time in her bright, lovely house which is tasteful with lots of character and space. A nice big dining room, generous living room with Apple TV, conservatory at the back. Our boys took the two bedrooms on the top second floor and liked the idea they had their own den at the top of the house with TV and DVD. But the most wonderful thing is the location. At the bottom of the huge garden is Oulton Broad itself, a stunning inland lake that adjoins Lowestoft Harbour. It’s very relaxing sitting at the bottom of the long, lovely garden listening to the waves and watching the sailboats. There’s your own landing and dinghy with motor if you fancy a spin around the harbour - great fun. We took it about an hour upstream to the village of Burgh which has moorings and a very agreeable pub overlooking the water. We also tried the paddle boards (and fell in). It’s not far to shops. The sandy beaches of Lowestoft are near and there’s plenty to do a little further afield, such as the old town of Beccles which has plenty of character and a large heated outdoor pool. Overall, a wonderful place for a family holiday and I would thoroughly recommend it. It made us want to move there!"

  • Comfortable and homely

"Ducksfoot Barn was a lovely place to stay. The barn was a beautiful building in its own right and we much appreciated having the 2 shower rooms and a bathroom."
