  • A very tastefully furnished and extremely well equipped farmhouse set in a beautiful area.

"We had a wonderfully family weekend staying at Cophole. Fiona made us feel so welcome with lots of extra little touches throughout the house - fresh flowers, cakes and some very kind birthday touches for my sister. The kitchen is extremely well equipped especially with a fantastic aga which kept it so warm (there is a conventional cooker too) along with a huge variety of other kitchen appliances and crockery. The dining room seats 14 and there are 2 lounges which is great if someone wants a few minutes piece and quiet, both of which have log burners. There is plenty of seating and tvs too. The kids (19-25 yrs) enjoyed the table football, pool table and xbox which made them feel 10 yrs younger in additional to a variety of younger toys and games if you had little ones. The 7 bedrooms were full of character and had beautiful furnishings which made us all so comfortable. We loved the grounds and all sat out in the sunshine on the lovely garden furniture. If is wasn't October we would probably have eaten outside too. There is also a great little swing/slide/climbing frame for little kids too. I would thoroughly recommend Cophole as a either a truely relaxing getaway or as a great base to explore the moors."

  • Fantastic - everything you need!

"Everything has been thought of to make for a very comfortable stay. Really friendly people and luxurious accommodation. High quality furnishings and amazingly warm, even without the gorgeous wood burner on the go! Lovely views and so peaceful. On a clear night we went out into garden, it was pitch dark and the stars we could see were amazing, clearest I've ever seen the Milky Way Galaxy! I love the fact that in most of the pubs in this area you can sit with your dog, which is great if you're out walking and fancy stopping for a bite to eat or a quick pint! Minehead is worth a trip, and go to the Apple Tree Café (number 1 in Menhead, just look at the cakes) as they LOVE dogs and give them treats and their own blanket to lie on when you go in! I would definitely return to these cottages as they are 5 star quality and you just step out of the front door and you've countryside walks straight away - and I'd love to see the 4 resident dogs again, so friendly!!!"

  • Secluded and really great value !!

"Lovely secluded spot. Our children really loved it. There's fishing available (ask the owners) and the lakes are well stocked with large rainbow trout. It was great to have the wood burner (some fuel was also supplied) as we love a real fire. It may be basic, but it was clean and just the getaway we needed. The barbecue came in handy and we left feeling recharged and rested! Chris was friendly on arrival and we saw Ellen as we were leaving. Apart from that we just saw a couple of fishermen and that was it. We enjoyed the peace and tranquility and would recommend it for that! Thanks Chris & Ellen !"
