  • Perfect

"As a family we cannot fault the cottage. We had a wonderful stay and would love to return. In fact my son does not want to live in our house anymore and asked if we can move into the cottage! X"

  • Great stay over Christmas period!

"This was a great HQ for our family gathering over the Christmas holidays this year. It had lovely rooms, bathrooms and a spacious layout allowing for multiple choices of where to sit and relax or team up and play, dance or watch TV. The house has lovely detailing with a mix of old and new. As for the location it sits really nice next to a large field where sheep graze, one neighbouring building behind a tall brick wall and the quiet access road that comes from Wrabness. The river Stour can be seen from the upper bedrooms in the distance. Country walks/runs and choices of where to ramble are many of which ones leading to the river and the beach were our favourite. The owners are lovely and helpful and it was fun hearing their story of how they came to restore the place. If we had anything to put a finger on it would be that we felt the oven/cooker to be too small for the property and would benefit from one that could take a full roasted turkey in situ. We would definitely consider this house again for a new visit so treat it well if you go! PS-Thanks for showing us around your lovely home as well! Turners/Fonnes/Kellehers/Palmers"

  • Everything we Wanted!

"The accommodation was just right for us. An old cider room converted to a high standard. Wifi too. Very clean, lovely shower, comfy bed. (We slept well) Surroundings delightful. Fields full of sheep, hills in every direction. Quiet, apart from the sheep. Hosts a pleasure. Not intrusive but always there when needed. (Do take care though if Steve offers you some of his home brewed cider; it packs a punch.) If you like dogs they expect you to throw things for them to fetch. If you're more of a cat lover, they won't bother you, though they might look at you reproachfully from time to time if you're sat in the garden. Plenty to do in the area. If you fancy a treat have lunch at The Jolly Frog. Ludlow of course is a delight. Don't miss Stokesay Castle (a well preserved medieval fortified manor house) Highly recommended. Will go back if the opportunity presents."

  • Our favourite stay in St Ives!

"We stayed in Flat 1 in July 2016. This was our fourth time holidaying in St Ives and our first time at Seabirds House. We loved it and have already rebooked for next year! The first time we've returned to the same property in St Ives - we just can't beat this flat in terms of location and price. Location is perfect. Fabulous views of Porthmeor Beach, the harbour and rooftops of St Ives. Possibly my favourite thing of our stay was sitting in the large bay window looking out at the view. A very short walk (albeit pretty steep - but our young children managed it fine) to the town and beaches and you don't have to drive through the centre of St Ives to get to the flat, which we think is a huge positive. It makes going out in the car much easier. The parking space is fine - we have a large people carrier and the other car in the parking area was a 4x4 - there is definitely enough space although the walls around the parking area did require us to manoeuvre with care - but we've never parked anywhere in St Ives that didn't require careful parking! The flat is really spacious. We had lots of room to spread out. We gave the kids the larger bedroom which gave them a nice place to play too! The living/dining room is large, light and airy with the fantastic views. The kitchen is small but adequate (and has a nice view from the window!). Everything was clean and tidy when we arrived, and we ordered 2 packs of towels which were in the flat too. Wifi was easy to connect to and worked fine. The terrace has great views - wish we could have used it more but the weather wasn't really on our side! The flat is not luxurious, but we weren't expecting that. It is furnished very comfortably, with lots of space and great views in one of the best locations in St Ives - we think it is amazing value. (The flats next door are far more expensive!) Looking forward to our return in 2017!"
