  • A wonderful warm and inviting great Scotish residence for a large family or group with every amenity

"Our time in Scotland was truly enhanced by our accommodations and knowing we were coming HOME to a great place after long days exploring. The closeness to transit down 3 blocks away, aswell as being a nice 20 min saunter up to Princes street, Waverly Train station and a few more minutes up to the Royal mile made our adventures more than easy. Or going on the Stockbridge area and meandering 20 mins to the wonderful Botanical Gardens! The creature comforts and extras supplied by the wonderful owners of the Upper Villa iced the cake - from having tea, coffee some spices, sugar, including having milk, bread, butter, cheese and basic sundry items for laundry were greatly appreciated. As well as the flowers in the entry way, the terrific information guides, and the openness to answer our questions or print off our boarding passes bring highest Kudos from this Canadian Family of 7. One suggestion might be the investment in a slow cooker so when out and about supper is done when the group returns. Being close to several small grocery shops as well as numerous specialty shops for cheeses, wines, the butcher and take out shops for fast food also lent itself to being a great area to stay in. Having the Drying rack in the Kitchen or as it was dubbed by our teens "the torture rack" worked fabulously to get clothes dried. The spaciousness to allow for the whole group to eat supper at the table or spread out when it was down time worked really well with the Old folks & teenagers. The ambiance of the upper villa, knowing it had years and years of history and the unique Scottish architecture truly lend to the adventure in Visiting Scotland... Thank you so much for giving us a great stay Rona!!! We will recommend you to all our friends and family and hope to return in a few years. • Charming Parisian Apartment

"This apartment was perfect for my husband and me during our May 2016 trip to Paris to celebrate our 35th anniversary. It's very small, but absolutely charming! It is very well located on Ile St. Louis, just steps from the Seine. It's only about a 2-minute walk to the Pont Marie Metro station, and is an easy walk to the Marais, the Latin Quarter, Notre Dame, St. Chapelle, and many more. It was so nice to have a washer/dryer there in the apartment. Every night we bought fruit, croissants, and other goodies at the neighborhood shops to have for breakfast the next morning with our delicious coffee we made in the apartment's espresso machine. The comfortable bedroom and well appointed bathroom were upstairs. Everything was very clean. I cannot say enough good things about our host Pascal. He is so friendly, kind, and helpful! He made sure we knew how to work everything and that we were very comfortable in the apartment. He provides a notebook in the apartment with instructions and maps, etc. He also has a passion for food and wine and made some great restaurant recommendations. We paid our deposit by check, which we got back promptly after our visit. Many thanks to Pascal for making our trip so fabulous! I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment or to stay at this apartment again."

  • A wonderful place to stay in the Dordogne

"Loved our Beynac holiday house. It has a wonderful view over the Dordogne, generous living space and three good bedrooms all in separate parts of the apartment. The kitchen has everything you need, the bathrooms are very good, and there's a huge chest full of games. Beynac is a charming village itself and ideally placed to explore the Dordogne area. We highly recommend it."
