  • Excellent house all you need for a lovely holiday

"Perfectly located, with easy access to tram and busses, the weather was unkind when we stayed but we had a home from home in this house. Brigitte was very helpful there if we needed her. Bordeaux is a lovely city we will return."

  • Delightful stay

"My husband and I spent a delightful week in Shona and Ken's lovely gite near Navarrenx. It's been beautifully restored and is full of character but with enough space and amenities for a large family. The garden is south facing and completely private with a remarkable BBQ that sadly we didn't get to use. The owners are next door and ready to help with anything at any time, and the location suited us perfectly, as we were able to go for hikes and cycle rides around the area and enjoy the local countryside. Navarrenx is within walking distance, making shopping and eating out very easy, and we also found several good restaurants within a few minutes drive. Definitely recommend it."

  • Perfect property for nine

"The property consists of two separate attached houses with six large bedrooms and five bathrooms, some with tubs and separate showers. The description was accurate and the owner provided me with a layout prior to our arrival. The main kitchen, breakfast table, dining room and lounges were spacious, clean and well furnished. There are several outdoor tables, chairs and umbrellas. The pool is very nice, unfortunately the constant rain didn't allow us to enjoy it. Anne-Laure's husband, Olivier, was present on the property in a separate apartment, and he was readily available to quickly handle any minor problems we experienced and to give directions and advice on local events. The TV room was a great place to sit, drink Olivier's wine and watch the Euro 2016 soccer matches. Wi-fi was fast and reliable. The adjacent village, Belvés-de-Castillon, is quite small; however, there is an incredible restaurant in the chateau of Claud Bellevue. They have three rooms, but will take reservations for dinner if you don't want to cook at the villa. The best boulangerie is in the main town of Castillon, just a few kilometers down the hill. There is also a very good market there on Mondays and several large food stores. A car is essential, but Castillon also has a train station where you can catch the local trains to St. Emilion, Libourne and Bordeaux. Trains are the best way to get into and out of Bordeaux as the traffic is worse than Houston's. I highly recommend this property for any large group looking to spend time in this beautiful area just 10 kilometers east of St. Emilion. Because of the layout, smaller groups may also find La Pignarderie to be the perfect place to stay."

  • charming cottage, concenient location

"It is well equipped, very clean cottage at absolutely gorgeous country side of Dordogne. All main attractions, grocery stores, restaurants are 15-30 min drive. The cottage is exactly as it is shown on photos, well stocked kitchen, great pool and spacious terrace for outside dining. I have no reservations to recommend it to anybody who is looking for low-key, relaxing holidays in a beautiful part of France."
