  • Perfectly relaxing

"We stayed here for a week at the end of June. Everything worked very smoothly. We had some prior concerns about being in a suburb of Bordeaux but our worries were needless. The owners live on the ground floor and are happy to be involved with your stay or leave you alone as it suits you personally. Charley collected us from the airport and, despite huge traffic delays, only charged us 25 Euros ( and the same to return). Our floor of the house was very spacious. Two bedrooms with a huge king size bed in one and twins in the other. Lots of storage room too.The bathroom had a very efficient shower. The living room was very large with flat screen TV and DVD player. It was open plan to the kitchen which literally contained everything to prepare a large dinner party including nice touches such as ice makers, coffee machines etc. There was also a large utility cupboard for cleaning items and storage.Everything was modern and very clean. You also have a separate entrance to the house for privacy. Outside there is a pleasant garden with seating and loungers etc. The swimming pool is delightful, pretty big, scrupulously cleaned every day and no chlorine. It is deep at all ends so may not be suitable for young children but does allow a real swim routine. There is a large supermarket just 5 mins walk away and a local bakers nearby for fresh croissants etc. We used the tram system throughout- it is brilliant. The stop is 5 mins away and we never waited more than 3 mins for the next tram , even on a Sunday. We bought a weeks ticket for 12 Euros and used it 19 times in and out of Bordeaux centre. The tram takes about 10-15 mins to each the centre and onward connections are very easy. Charley also gave us sound advice on restaurants etc and offers a bespoke service to areas beyond. He took us to St Emilion for the day and included a tour of the vineyards. I don't hesitate to recommend this accommodation for visitors to Bordeaux."

  • A wonderful french experience

"We wanted to visit the Bordeaux area for a large family holiday - there were 20 of us from age 3 months to 83 years! We had a really lovely time at this wonderful old family mansion. Everywhere was beautifully decorated and both kitchens (one in the house, one by the pool) were extremely well equipped. There were lots of fridges and freezers and a well equipped laundry room. The gardens were very pretty and there were some lovely walks in and around the property. We enjoyed playing tennis, table tennis, badminton and boule and there were lots of pool toys and floats to play with, for kids of all ages. The medieval chapel attached to the house was a lovely unexpected addition. The local shops were a 5 minute walk away, including a supermarket. The local restaurants were good - we enjoyed a lovely meal at les Oliviers in St Eulalie - a 10 minute walk away. The local train station brought us into Bordeaux in 15 minutes for a few euros. It was a lovely base for exploring the vineyards and further afield. There was room for about 30 people altogether with the large dormitory at the top of the house able to sleep about 10 more people. Per head, this is very good value for a unique and special experience. We hope to return one day."

  • Smart modern bungalow conveniently situated for Bordeaux and surrounding areas.

"We stayed for one week from 19th June 2016. This bungalow in the garden of the owner's house is very well equipped and stylishly decorated. The bungalow was very clean, quiet and comfortable. We soon settled in and felt that you could live comfortably here almost indefinitely, as everything you need is provided. The pool was nice and a good size. The owner's live in the main house opposite in the same garden and were very friendly and helpful but unobtrusive. We found the location to be good as you are only a few minutes from a local supermarket and have easy access to the centre of Bordeaux or out to surrounding locations. We visited the nearby Arcachon area twice, where there is an Ornithological Park and lovely beaches in Arcachon itself, being only about 50 minutes by car at this time of year. We very much enjoyed our stay and recommend this bungalow. It is one of the nicest places we have stayed in France. Alan & Paul"
