  • The South Africans in Beaune

"We (husband and wife) stayed in Joce and Yan's apartment in Rousseau des Landes from 24 Aug to 3 September 2016. We could not have been more pleased with the spotlessly clean and well-appointed apartment and the location. On arrival, Joce presented us with a 'care package' of wine, madeleines, bread, milk ... and home-made rhubarb jam ... she is so kind and considerate. There is everything one could need in the apartment (down to the tiniest details, e.g. salad spinner, sharp knives - to the bigger details, such as modern appliances. All the daily requirements were provided (tea, coffee, sugar, oil, salt etc) so there was no need to rush out to do grocery shopping. Joce had thought of everything in terms of notes on how to use appliances, suggestions on where to shop, where to buy bread, where to dine. The little balcony was our favourite feature, and we spent happy meals out there. We would not hesitate to recommend this apartment (and the owner!) and hope to stay with them again in the near future. Thank you Joce and Yan!"

  • Beautiful apartment in wine loving town

"We enjoyed our stay in this apartment very much - the location was very convenient to having a car as it is on the loop that encircles Beaune (inside the loop parking is metered and cobblestone streets and pedestrians may make it a bit confusing to drive). We arrived the first day of the Vents de Vin/Wine auction weekend. Unfortunately the free public parking lot was blocked off for the festivities but with some persistence and willingness to park where the locals park (e.g., off a walking path) we were good to go. The apartment is larger and lovelier than it appeared on the photos. High ceilings, beams, tall Windows, light and bright and well decorated . The kitchen was better equipped than any VRBO I have visited. No drip coffee maker - French press only. Full size and well working washer and clothes dryer!! Very rare. We were well supplied prior to arrival by the host (included) (coffee, milk, cookie, chips, orange juice, etc.) and there were cooking spices, oil, etc. Each bedroom has a large bed and separate en suite bathroom for privacy. The living and one bedroom face Rue Lorraine - nice holiday lights up already in November. We had one issue with the heating but it was addressed as soon as possible given the festival weekend; meanwhile the apartment has space heaters that worked fine and a wood burning heating fireplace. The local contacts responded promptly when we emailed them. We couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. Beaune is a nice, small town with infinite wine tasting opportunities - including wine caves and producers - in town plus wineries to visit by car."

  • Parfait

"Intérieur cosy l'hiver avec le poele, terrasse probablement sympa l'été. Grande baie vitrée agréable. A 5 minutes à pied de la place carnot (maison située de l'autre coté du boulevard qui entoure la vieille ville) Propriétaire sympathique, attentionnée et arrangeante. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir."

  • Great location, comfortable apartment

"This apartment nicely filled the needs of our party of five adults. It was a tastefully remodeled apartment with new furnishings, clean, centrally located in the city of Beaune within easy walking distance of the major tourist sites and just doors away from a fully stocked grocery store as well as numerous restaurants. The living room /kitchen/dining area were on the lower level while the bedrooms, bathroom, and WC were on the second level of the apartment connected by a circular staircase which was somewhat awkward for several of us older adults to maneuver easily; however, it we were there for only for one week, so it was not a big problem. We would be happy to repeat our experience there if we should ever return to Beaune."
