  • Beautiful Comfortable Room in Peaceful Location

"This room, which is part of the owners' house, has its own private entrance and is beautifully fitted out. We were greeted by our hosts after our rather long and hot drive from Southern France! Mark and Alison are very friendly and welcoming and showed us around our lovely comfortable room, giving us lots of additional information about our location and where we could eat that night. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was brilliant!! Everything we could want was in that room - from tea and coffee making facility to TV (if we had wanted to use it!!). In the morning we were served a very substantial Continental breakfast in the garden - there was even a vase of lovely fresh flowers on the table! The coffee (we had a cafetiere each!!) was very good, and was served with orange juice also. The house is in a very quiet rural setting but the small town of Saulieu was close by and we were able to have a good meal there in the evening. I think Mark and Alison are doing everything right to create a comfortable place for their guests to stay and we wish them every success! We were sorry we were only staying for one night as I'm sure we would have enjoyed spending a little more time in that area. Thank you both!!"

  • Of the greatest charm and beauty. Wonderfully located.

"The town is a throwback to, and continuation of, a way of French life which is enviable and growing ever rarer, and seemed to us genuine and unaffected. Due to its central situation we were able to tour Burgundy quite exhaustively without driving endlessly."

  • Beautiful house in the countryside

"A huge and beautiful house, old but with every modern applicance and good heating. Beautiful garden and view. Lovely decoration, very elegant, a well accomplished mix between classic (lovely cristal lamps) and modern, it had the feeling of an upscale boutique hotel and at the same time was very cozy. . One of the small bedrooms had bunk beds and was ideal for children. It is next to a small medieval village. You need a car and there are no shops in the vicinity. All the bedrooms are in the second floor so not ideal for people with reduced mobility or small children. Great kitchen. Very nice owner, constantly availabel on the phone and email."
