  • A truly Parisian Experience

"Myriam greeted us at the apartment for our early check in. She speaks flawless English and explained how to use the appliances and directed us to the local grocery. she was a delight. Our family of 5, Parents and kids (ages 14, 17, and 21) booked this apartment for one week for our trip to Paris. The apartment is in a great neighborhood and close to two good Metro Stops - Hotel Deville and La Halle (which also has trains.), and it is close to grocery stores, bakeries, and many restaurants. The neighborhood is lively at night sometimes when there are revelers, so it can get a little bit noisy. There are three bedrooms and the owner will configure the beds to your specifications. There is a futon in one of the living areas that could accommodate more sleepers. There are three bath areas. The first is a toilet that is off of the kitchen. The second is a tub with shower combo with a toilet that was having some plumbing issues. The third was a stand up shower and sink combination. The kitchen had a small stove/dishwasher combo, a full size refrigerator, and a large sink. There is a clothes washer, which I used everyday because it was hot in Paris and we had to do a lot of sweaty laundry. But there is no clothes dryer - which is typical in most Paris apartments - so you dry your clothes on a clothes rack - plan accordingly! There is no air conditioning - again typical for a Paris apartment, but there are beautiful original marble fireplaces in each bedroom and each of the two living areas along with plenty of heaters. The original hardwood floors look very "original." This is definitely a shabby chic kind of place - which I love. The owner, being a director, costumer and artist has an eclectic decor and the study area which contains the WIFI router could be considered cluttered by some - but not by me! It was a delight of Paris and shabby chic decor. I loved it! The ceilings are about 15 feet high, the curtains are as long, and each bedroom has an armoir for your clothes. THERE IS NO ELEVATOR (LIFT)! You must scale three flights of stairs to get to the apartment and these are serious stairs. So, plan on getting a good thigh and glut workout. Overall I give this place 5 STARS because for the price it is a really good value and our kids could enjoy life as Parisians. If you want an elevator and American amenities, this may not be the place for you. But for us it was perfect."
