Recent Paris Arr. 7 (Eiffel Tower, Orsay, Rue Cler) reviews

  • Charming, well located adult apartment

"Zara Saint has done a wonderful job decorating and furnishing, with French antiques, a livable apartment. It is somewhat quirky but quaint. Everything one needs is provided, with the exception of air conditioning (if needed in the summer). It is well located in the 7th, not far off the 6th. Rue du Bac, the shopping street, is one block over and the Metro stop is only a few blocks further. The neighborhood is relatively quiet and is in an area of "Embassy Row". We look forward to returning."

  • Sweet pad in Paris

"This cozy flat on rue de Beaune was well furnished, comfortable, totally quiet, and nicely located. The only negative is the somewhat claustrophobic feeling: two small windows looking into an air shaft, no window in the "bedroom." However, you don't come to Paris to sit in a flat. We had our breakfast there and a light lunch or two, but there are plenty of good places to eat nearby. We especially liked "La Bonne Excuse" and "au 35." The flat was very secure, very well equipped, and only a few minutes to the metro and several bus lines, incuding #63 to Gare de Lyon. Excellent big bed, didn't use the sofa bed. Everything was clean, modern, and no tchotchkes!"

  • Living the dream in Paris!

"Without repeating all the positive aspects of Alain's apartment as described in the other reviews, I will try to describe our experience at this gem of an apartment in a great location and neighborhood we found to give us an excellent feel for “living the dream” in Paris for a week. Alain's cafe was a great introduction to the Parisienne experience, along with a great cup of Americana coffee, seafood salad and the pains au chocolat. There are many stores and restaurants in the neighborhood. Beside Bon Marche and the grand epicerie, there's a butcher, fish monger, many great boutique stores, chocolatiers, florists, tailor, and many other services found in large cities. Right next to Carrefour City(local supermarket) is another little shop which has good meals to go. We had the chicken and potatoes and that was just fine with a good price. Some days there's a Farmer's Market right outside of these two stores. Only a few steps away and around the corner is the Chapelle Notre-Dame De La Medaille Miraculeuse, where Sainte Catherine Laboure had her miraculous experience. She is an incorruptible saint who lies within the church. Alain's studio is a great find and I'm sure you'll love it as we did. We are two Americans in our middle sixties and really liked the idea that the metro was right there, which brought us to every major sight. Merci, Alaine. You were very helpful!"
