  • Homely comfort in a beautiful location

"Having had such a successful previous visit to the main house, we returned for a long weekend in January, this time staying in the converted barn. This was overall every bit as comfortable as the main house. Some evenings saw us curled up with the wood burner on and the house never felt cold despite the wintry weather at the time. The living areas are huge. Plenty of space downstairs for two sofas and a dining table, with numerous lamps on side tables / floor providing atmospheric lighting. The kitchen is perfectly well equipped with dishwasher and all cooking items one could need / use. The bedroom is massive with a real feeling of being light and airy. The barn was spotlessly clean and felt very homely during our stay. As ever, the owners were extremely welcoming and knowledgeable about all things local. I would not hesitate to recommend the accommodation to others and this area really has plenty to offer, be it at peak summer season, or for an out of season weekend break."

  • Amazing setting, huge and wonderful gardens, spacious and comfortable house

"The photos of the interior don't really do the house justice: it is more spacious than you might think from the photos. The house is very nice and full of character (old stables conversion), the pool is great for the kids and the garden is a truly amazing space. It is huge and varied, with a children's activity area (trampoline, swings etc), an orchard, a kitchen garden and several open field areas. The owners grow various fruit and vegetables: our children enjoyed the freshly-picked strawberries from the garden. The setting is wonderful, with views of the Pyrenees and many walks and scenery in the vicinity. The owners (who are English) are friendly and knowledgeable about local activities and walks. Highly recommended."

  • Stunning location, wonderful accommodation and everything we needed!

"Our week at La Métairie was fantastic. The gite is the best self catering accommodation we have ever stayed in. Lynn and Steve have thought of everything and it is those little touches that make it feel like home rather than holiday accommodation! The kitchen was fantastic with all utensils and pans we could ever need. The pool is truly stunning and the outdoor eating space is really lovely. We loved the day bed areas as they were perfect for reading during the hottest part of the day. The inside of the gite is lovely and cool and a welcome respite from the outside heat on some days! We can't wait to return. Thank you so much Lynn and Steve!"

  • Fabulous time in Ariege, South of France ! :))

"We just spent a fabulous time in Baluze, Ariege! The house is very spacious & confortable, the 1M$ mountain view is grandiose & inspiring, and there are many activities you can do in and out the property (biking, hiking, visiting the lovely villages around etc.). The owners, Sonia & Sebastien, always very helpful, should not change a thing. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to relax and recharge the batteries. We will certainly come again and the next time for 2 weeks !!"
