  • Super Week-End Juillet 2016

"Un énorme MERCI à Jim et sa famille pour l'accueil. Nous avons passé 2 nuits dans le gîte, à 9 pour un EVJF, du vendredi au dimanche. Le logement est plus que confortable. Jim est très arrangeant. Le seul inconvénient que nous avons rencontré est que la piscine ouvre un peu tard... N'hésitez surtout pas à vous y rendre, le coin est super. Il y a un spot de canoe kayak à Ruffec, avec une superbe balade sur la dordogne Laetitia"

  • A beautiful barn conversion, perfect for relaxation.

"We had a wonderful stay at La Grange. Susan and Graham are lovely hosts, very friendly and helpful when needed, but not at all intrusive. The gardens are stunning, and make for a great place to relax and read a book. The pool is a great size and we all had fun swimming throughout the holiday. The Moroccan garden is a great place to enjoy an al fresco meal and our son had a great time pretending the bar was his "shop". The barn itself is immaculately presented and very well equipped, with everything needed to make our stay comfortable and it was easy to feel relaxed and at home. It is spacious and there was more than enough room for the three of us to spread out. When we could tear ourselves away we had some great days out, searching out the cartoons in Angouleme, visiting Chateau Rochefoucauld, the fantastic Futuroscope (a big hit with our son) to name a few. We would thoroughly recommend a stay at La Grange, a perfect place for families or couples to relax and unwind."

  • Very welcoming hosts and a beautiful place to stay

"From the moment we booked this property nothing could have been too much trouble for our host Miche and Adrian. Upon arrival we were certainly not disappointed. Masion de Maitre's large rooms are furnished with a mixture of antique and contemporary furniture in great style. The beautiful kitchen/living room is very well equipped and the icing on the cake was the lovely meal awaiting us upon arrival, plus a fridge stocked with goodies to ease us into the holiday mood! The gardens surrounding the property were beautiful and the pool and sundeck so inviting it was hard to drag ourselves away. However we managed it and found Civray to be sleepy little town with all the basic amenities one needs and one or two good restaurants. A visit to Poitiers is also recommended should you feel the need for 'bright lights'. All in all a wonderful location and fantastic hosts. Thank you for letting us share your lovely home. We hope we can visit again sometime."

  • All You Could Want

"Chatenet was a super place to stay. We had the four bedroom house for just two of us. It was spacious, well equipped and and had everything you could need. The grounds were huge and we enjoyed walking around each evening. The pool was great for cooling off during the hot weather. We had a lovely meal prepared by Mel on our first evening. She is a great cook. Mel and Richard were brilliant hosts who were never intrusive but always available if we needed anything and gave us lots of good advice about house hunting in the area. Highly recommended!!"
