  • A great base from which to explore La Provence.

"Sophie Cayzac's vacation apartment provides an ideal, affordable location from which to explore Arles, Avignon, and the many sights of the Provence. While its location in the village of Paradou contains just one (expensive) restaurant, it is close to St. Remy, Mausanne and other small towns with many restaurants and eateries offering that fine Provencal cuisine. We took advantage of the apartment's kitchen to prepare a number of meals, especially breakfast and dinner. A small but surprisingly well-stocked (including with local wine!) grocery store, a bakery (with delicious specialty items and those fine French baguettes) and a butcher shop (with a most pleasant proprietor greeting all customers in a sing-song voice) are just around the corner. We found all locals to be friendly and welcoming of English-speakers; in fact, many speak at least some English themselves. If we had questions, Sophie enthusiastically provided plenty of answers, especially regarding where to go and what to do. During our stay in mid-September, 2016, we followed her advice for touring the Luberon and Camargue areas and were glad we did. Sophie's apartment consists of a roomy living room and kitchen, a bedroom with large double bed and a bathroom with shower. It contained plenty of glassware, dishes and silverware, a full-size refrigerator, a four-burner cooktop, a dishwasher, a sink and all we needed to make coffee and tea. We were almost sorry that it was too warm to light a fire in that enormous stone fireplace."

  • Perfect Vacation

"Our time at Ann & David Price's beautiful home in Les Baux was absolutely wonderful. Ann and David were the best hosts and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable by adding many extra touches. The home was in the middle of an olive grove, with lovely gardens surrounded by rocky hills. Each window overlooked olive trees, beautiful porches or the courtyard. The house was extremely comfortable. All the rooms were large, perfectly furnished, and with a well appointed kitchen. I have rented many houses in Europe and found the Price's home and their hospitality to be the most welcoming. The location was perfect for day trips throughout Provence. There were so many beautiful locations and small villages in and around Les Baux. We were very pleased with the restaurants in the small nearby village of Maussane which also had wonderful shops in which to by produce, cheese, meats and breads. The countryside is gorgeous and having a car is a must so that you can enjoy its beauty."
