  • a gem within a gem

"This is a terrific house, and you couldn’t ask for a better proprietor than Christine. We fell in love with the village on a previous trip and were so pleased to find this location, a few steps from one of the prettiest walkways to the old church grounds high up on the hill, and in the other direction a good route to the all-important boulangerie and all the wonderful local restaurants. The house works well, and the nicely equipped kitchen is a plus (American coffee maker!). Bonnieux is a gem in itself, with its quaint little streets and its fabulous views. It’s also a perfect base for exploring the other villages in the Luberon valley, or venturing farther afield, to Arles, Aix-en-Provence, or the dentelles. We loved our time here!"

  • I Can't Say Enough!

"I had stayed in Cabrieres-d’Avignon several years ago and remembered that it was perfectly situated to provide easy access to all of the gorgeous hill towns of the Luberon and their hiking trails, and yet was off the beaten track, making it peaceful. When searching for a property large enough to accommodate my guests in comfort and style, I found Le Prieure. It may be cliché to say that the photos do not do it justice, but it’s true. It’s even more gorgeous. I and a couple of my guests have bad backs and I know from experience that rental properties have awful beds. All of my guests, however, slept like babies. The owner and the property managers were charming and responded rapidly to my inquiries. Not only did they have some bread, wine, cheese, and olives waiting on the kitchen table for my arrival, they left a gorgeous bouquet of lilies on the dining room table. All of my guests commented on their gorgeous scent during our week-long stay. There are several family-run stores less than a block away that were invaluable: a small but well stocked grocery store, a butcher store with outstanding quality meat and pates, and a bakery which provided us with our daily supply of fresh croissants and bread. All of the store owners were very friendly and kind. Ask the grocery store owner about the locally produced Pastis; it’s better than anything you can find elsewhere. I can’t think of anything that I would change about Le Prieure other than the length of my stay: it was far too short."

  • Beautiful view over the Luberon and fabulous pool, walking distance from lovely village.

"The house served the needs of four adults well - comfortable, convenient especially as the weather was perfect and we spent much of the time outside on the terrace and in the pool. The kitchen is on the small side but generally well equipped, the lounge very spacious and comfortable. It's a short uphill walk to the beautiful historic village of Goult which has very good shops and the excellent Café de la Poste."
