"This place was great! Plenty of room for all three of us and very convenient to the metro. I would recommend this place to anyone coming to Munich that wants a great place to stay at a reasonable price."

  • A nice quiet place to stay just outside of Munich

"Our family of four was doing a road trip between Austria, Germany and Switzerland. We stayed for three nights at this lovely apartment while on our way to Zurich. The apartment is conveniently located within walking distance of the train station. We found that the train system was very easy to use and provided us with all the access we need to get to the heart of Munich as well as a connection that took us to Allianz Arena. It was also within a few hours of Fussen where we spent a day touring the area and Schloss Neuschwanstein. The apartment itself is very clean and well maintained. There is a bedroom and an area in the living room that can be used for two additional people to sleep in via convertible couches. The kitchen is well furnished with all the appliances and utensils that you need and we took advantage of this to cook our breakfast and dinner after a day of sightseeing. There is a market near the train station, also within walking distance and several local restaurants that were very welcoming. Our first night we arrived late and the owner recommended a wonderful local Bavarian restaurant where the food and beer were fantastic! There is also a washer which is handy since we were on week two of our trip and used it to wash our dirty clothes so we can pack light. This also came in very handy and we appreciate that it was available as part of our rental. There are some things that renters need to be aware of that were minor inconveniences. Nothing big but as tourists from the U.S. we wanted to make sure that you are aware of these things. The first is that there is no wifi provided. This is not a fault of the owners but has to do with a very strict German law regarding the sharing of wifi between private parties. Something we weren't aware of but it was nice to have some down time from always being connected. The second, again this is more of a U.S. thing, but there is no air conditioning. During the Summer months most U.S. citizens are use to air conditioning. In Europe it is a different matter. However the location of the apartment provided for a nice cross breeze if you open the windows and we found that in the evenings it was very comfortable to sleep with windows open. Again, not a big issue but wanted anyone from the U.S. to be aware of this. Overall the apartment was very clean, well furnished will all the necessary items for our stay. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone staying around Munich."

  • Great home in Munich

"We loved this flat when we saw the pictures, and what you get is exactly what you expect. For an American, it was a little weird having a completely portable kitchen counter and stove at the end of the living room, and the sink and dishwasher in a separate alcove, but it worked fine. We didn't cook, but there was everything you would need. A regular coffee pot, which we preferred, was available. The bedroom is huge, with a large comfortable bed. There is also plenty of storage space. This particular apartment is on the ground floor, and it was somewhat humid. We opened the windows when we could, but it was February. The building is locked, so we felt very safe. The location is perfect - a block or two from Tenglemans, which is a grocery store, and also Sendlinger Tor, a transportation hub. The center of Munich, Marienplatz, is certainly walkable, or you can go by U-bahn. We have been to Munich often, and this was the best place we have stayed. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is that there was some confusion about the owner and property manager. I corresponded for months with Patt Howard, who is still listed on the listing as the owner. When we arrived, we were met by a young man who said Patt was gone and his mother was the new owner. When I contacted HomeAway, they said both Patt and the new woman are property managers, and yet another person is the owner. This didn't affect our stay, but was a bit disconcerting, as we weren't informed about the change. The young man who met us handed us keys, several sheets of paper written by Patt, told us to open the windows, and was ready to leave until we asked for contact information. A very confusing situation, but the flat itself is the best!"
