  • Great Location with Everything we Needed

"The apartment was just as described. It's in a great location right in the middle of downtown Akureyri with easy parking (a huge perk!). The owner was nice and very responsive. He met us immediately to let us in, answer any questions and show us the space. The bed was comfortable. The living room had a nice couch with a good stereo set-up. The kitchen was well-equipped for our needs. Everything was very clean and worked out well. I think the listing said it only had a dryer, but I believe it's a combo washer/dryer if you need it (we thought we would but in Iceland you end up wearing the same thing over and over again, so we had plenty of clean clothes and didn't try it). The one thing I would say is that Akureyri has a very active night life for a little town. We loved it and loved being in the middle of it, but if you don't like staying up late and don't like hearing loud crowds/music outside while you're trying to sleep, then this may not be the right choice for you. It's right next to a music venue and we did hear the music from inside the apartment. The owner warned us about this though and provided ear plugs if we wanted them, so you would probably be fine (and we were there on Fri/Sat). Overall, highly recommend."

  • Great place!

"Great place, secluded and out of the city which was really nice. We were able to see the northern lights from the front window :) the only downside was they only take cash payments and we had difficulty finding an ATM, since everyone else usually takes card around the country. Other than that it was an amazing place. Communication was quick and they even provided a guidebook with some nearby things to see. The bed was also very comfortable!"

  • Really nice place.

"We wanted to stay in a small village away from the main tourist locations and Grenivik is a gem. While it is a quiet location, it has all the amenities you need to enjoy your stay, and it offers easy access to Akureyri and all the attractions the North has to offer. Ragnheidur's home is really nice. There were four of us (two couples) and we stayed in three different locations during our vacation to Iceland. We all agree that Ragnheidur's home was our favorite rental, and Grenivik was our favorite place we visited in Iceland. Everyone in the town was so nice including the market owner and restaurant owner and staff. The town pool was wonderful with a great view of the fjord. We were even able to see the whale's spray as they breathed in the distance. We booked a ride through the local ranch (Polar Hestar) and it was a wonderful experience. We even got to watch the local Grenivik football team win their game; go Magni! The area is just plain beautiful! The town was just plain great. Ragnheidur was really helpful in providing information on all the amenities and attractions in the area. She was a pleasure to deal with. I really hope I get the opportunity to come back."
