  • Clean, cozy, and convenient

"My wife and I spent 4 great nights at Silver Acres and couldn't have been happier with our choice. It was impeccably clean, well stocked, and very cozy for two people. Location was great--an easy walk to all of Galway's busier locations, but still very quiet at night. The apartment is pretty small, but laid out well and really maximizes the space well. It's great for two people, or maybe parents with one small child. The kitchen is stocked really well if you want to cook meals at home. Another fry pan or two would be a nice addition. Bathroom is clean and sufficient and having laundry facilities is a huge plus. We rented a car and chose to pay the extra fee to use their reserved parking spaces and that was a great convenience for us. Liz was a fantastic host, too. She was eager to greet us and give us lots of groceries when we arrived, and was easy to reach by phone/text when a few other questions arose during the week. We was accessible but never intrusive. You can tell that they take pride in keeping their rentals spotless and making sure their guests enjoy their stays. You would not get this type of care and attention at a hotel. If you are navigating via Google maps, it can be a little tricky to find. They emailed detailed instructions ahead of time, but there is a business housed in the same building (DV Mannion & Co) and we had no issues when using that business as the destination in Google maps. If you try to enter the specific street address, you will likely get confused. Really, the only minor gripe we had was that the WiFi service was somewhat spotty and the signal was only reliable in the front of the apartment."

  • An excellent choice to book for at least a week!

"In a rural setting with nature in full bloom at your doorstep this home is clean and modern. The decor has been tastefully created from designer publications and is appointed with culinary delight. We loved walking (2-3kms) to witness a variety of pasture grazers and the beautiful beaches along the coast. From Inishbofin to the Marconi signal station there are many ways to experience life and history among the people of Ireland."

  • Great property!

"Jim was a wonderful host. He facilitated getting help to us when a minor emergency occurred. He was highly responsive prior to our arrival and during our stay. The house was ideal for our family. The six bedrooms were comfortable; and, having two sitting rooms at opposite ends of the house was ideal for teens and their interests and the rest of us with our interests. One must have sufficient transportation for everyone in one's party due to the need to drive into town for groceries, see the local sites and enjoy everything Athlone has to offer. The property location is rather distant from the town center - ideal for relaxing and enjoying the semi-remote location. Be ready to drive your recycling to the central recycling center (a small fee is charged by the center). Make sure to use the GPS coordinates to locate the property."

  • Relaxing, enjoyable base for experiencing Dublin and surrounding area

"We loved our stay at this comfortable, light-filled apartment--the giant windows in every room offered views out to the ever-changing sky and treetops with a peek of the sea to the East. We loved the Donnybrook neighborhood! It was close enough to Dublin's city center to walk or take the bus (we mostly walked downtown and then took the bus back), but felt like we came "home" to our own "village" with local shops and pubs. We typically spent the day out exploring the many sites of Dublin and then came back for dinner and relaxing. We shopped at the green grocer, meat market, liquor store, Tesco, and Donnybrook Fair for simple meal preparation supplies. And we ate excellent meals in the neighborhood at O'Connells and Rolys (and saw many other places we wanted to try but ran out of time). The flat is exactly as described in the listing--in fact I think the photos don't quite do it justice. It is impeccably clean and the kitchen is well-fitted for easy food preparation. The bathroom had the best lighting of our entire trip! We appreciated Felicity's advice and assistance regarding navigating the Aircoach during the bus strike, as well as seeing the sights, such as my question for filling our last day. She recommended a Dart ride along the sea to the village of Dalkey for a walk and lunch. Perfect! I recommend this flat very highly and we hope we can return soon."
