  • What a find!

"We can second many of the comments in the other reviews. We enjoyed this beautiful house in such a beautiful setting for 1 week. We would have loved to stay longer. We enjoyed the sheep and cows surrounding us! Constenatly, there were beautiful pictures to be taken! As was mentioned the lake was beautiful and the colors did constantly change. One morning the lake was covered with mist or a low flying cloud. We even enjoyed the excitement of learning to navigate the rather narrow winding roads to and from all of our destinations. It was our second trip to Ireland, and this was the way to do it! As many mentioned Vincent and Mary were very hospitable, kind and helpful people. We aslo had a very good experiance just booking the place with Brethanie. It was truly a home away from home. D + R Betz & family"

  • Charming, Clean and Central

"The Pollclabber captured our hearts! My husband, two children and I stayed her for 5 nights and found it to be the perfect home base for the many places in the Burren that we visited. The rural location contributed to its charm. Helen left a lovely hand-written note to welcome us, and many suggestions for places to visit and where to find the best grocery shopping, restaurants, ice cream. Everything in the Pollclabber was in working order, clean and well-appointed. I would book here again in a heartbeat. Thank you for a wonderful stay, Helen!"

  • Spectacular house ! Well beyond the expectations !

"An impressive and spectacular house , well beyond our expectations ( of me and my husband ) ! Location , location and location....the house is just on and along the coast, in front of the sea and the rocks, with the Cliffs of Moher at the horizon . In every moment of the day and the night you will " feel " the sea and its sounds , specially at high tide or when the sea gets wild ( it happens often !). And what an awesome view - and unforgettable sunsets - from the house , from its luxurious and so pleasant living room ,or from the equally luxurious master bedroom and bathroom, or from the kitchen and dining room . But it's not only location and views . Clahane Lodge is unique in itself ,in its luxurious structure and interior design , in its unique features and details ( with top technology applied in its facilities), in its unique atmosphere . You feel you are in Ireland , but you could equally be in the States , along the coast of Maine ! Just a couple of miles from the Cliffs of Moher coastal walk ( avoiding the overcrowded visitor centre ), and so near to all the other attractions of the area ( the Burren are indeed spectacular !) , to its pubs and restaurants . Among the villages , Ballyvaughan was perhaps the one we enjoyed more ( also Doolin,of course !), and it's less than half an hour drive from the house. The "customer service " by Brendan was unique, he really made you feel at home , with his kindness , his warmth , his smile. Summing up , if you love the sea and Co.Clare , if you want to feel at home , if you want to stay in a luxurious and unusual setting , Clahan Lodge is your place ! Thanks Maeve and Brendan , we will definitely come back. Laura"

  • Perfect cottage, beautiful views!

"These two side-by-side cottages are situated in an absolutely beautiful spot overlooking the ocean! We were in #1, which is roomy, modern, and well equipped with appliances. The set of windows in the dining area, living room, and master bedroom all look straight over a peaceful pasture to the sea. On several of our days, we had a view of the Aran Islsnds, and even of the mountains of distant Connemara. From the cottage, there are simple walks with stunning scenery on the Caher Valley Loop Walk. One direction is Fanore Beach and the ocean, a second is into The Burren, and a third is up the hill for stunning views - all three without ever moving the car! You can also walk in minutes to a small market for essentials, a nice café, and O'Donohue's Pub. When you do drive, it's 20-25 minutes to Doolin, for the Aran ferries, or for traditional Irish music sessions, and it's 30-35 minutes to the Cliffs of Moher. All in all, it's a roomy modern cottage, with spectacular views, and ideally situated for enjoying County Clare!!"
