  • Terrific Property and Terrific Hosts

"The house was ideal as a base for my husband and two daughters and I to explore counties Galway and Clare. The Burren is a hidden treasure, and Galway is one of our favorite places to visit in Ireland. We loved Innis Oirr and Doolin, and the drive there from the house is spectacular. The property has so much character...restored to a wonderful open air but cabiney feel home with all of the conveniences you just cannot get in a hotel or B&B. Loved wakening each morning to the donkeys braying for carrots :), and a light and airy home to have coffee in while planning the day. John was a terrific host, leading up to our arrival, and then most accommodating when we arrived later than planned. He stopped to give a tour and familiarize us w/ the mechanics of the house soon after our arrival. Irish hospitality at its finest. This was our first VRBO rental and we were pleased that we tried it. Thanks, John."

  • Beautifully appointed with lovely finishes throughout in the most serene setting you can imagine

"This house/property has it all. If you want to experience Ireland at its best and enjoy the comfort and tranquility of true country charm, you need to look no further. Coming from the hustle and bustle life of Chicago, we wanted a soft landing at the end of our days as we traveled though the winding roads of the "Old Sod". This home provided us with the warm embrace of an old friend. The conclusion of every day was spent around the huge kitchen island where we spent hours laughing, eating and sharing our cherished moments of the day. From the very first second we landed to our early morning departure a week later, we found Lily to be the most attentive and gracious host. It was obvious that she truly wanted us to enjoy a WORRY FREE holiday. The smallest hiccup was quickly addressed by her trusty sidekick, Patrick....who was quick with a smile as he offered his knowledge of the land with a good dose of Irish wit. The location of this house is perfect if you don't mind driving to the many attractions Ireland has to offer. Nothing is more than 2-1/2 hours away. We literally did it all. We kissed the Blarney stone, did the "Ring of Kerry", toured all of Dublin and Galway and I still found the time to propose to my girlfriend at the Cliffs of Moher. But at the end of our daily adventures, we were so happy to walk through the door of our own Kildysart Castle..... We are already planning our next escape."

  • Olean Fion in Killadysert

"We enjoyed our 4 night stay here very much. The cottage was clean and comfortable with good beds and luxurious bedding, the kitchen was well equipped (including milk and sweets in the frig to greet us), well appointed throughout. Friendly neighbors with sweet dogs. The view was beautiful. No internet available except at one pub in town and no ATM. We appreciated the peace and quite and would recommend this to anyone seeking the comfort and quiet."
