  • A gem of a spot.

"Ballyvaughan is the perfect spot to spend time and see the beauty and culture of County Claire. We loved visiting the Whiskey Bar and meeting the owner, Margaret. The Tea Shop just a block away was superb. The hike with our guide, Shane Connolly, in the Burren was fantastic. We enjoyed the views of the ocean from the house and yard, meeting the charming people in the town and travelling around such gorgeous countryside. The cottage was comfortable. We had everything we needed and much more. Thanks to Richard for his clear and helpful instructions to get to the cottage and for all the tips that were provided."

  • Perfect Holiday!

"This was our first trip to Ireland. We choose the Old Parochial House with the lovely 1 bedroom restored cottage, and we were SO happy that we did. It was wonderful to come home to a turf fire after a day of exploring the surrounding towns, sites, pubs, and beaches. We were close to Ennis, where we took a train into Dublin and Belfast. We rented a car for the two weeks that we were there, so we could easily get to Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula, Cliffs of Moher, Connamara, the Burren, and so on. The west coast of Ireland is beautiful, and pristine! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling from the states to Ireland! Only 40 miles from the Shannon Airport, too...."

  • Serene setting for a great house

"Our family of seven, ages 35-80, loved this comfortable house with its great deck , pastoral setting with wonderful lake view, and lots of natural light from the many front windows. The kitchen was well equipped, the bedding and linens were of good quality, the stoves well supplied with wood and peat, and the laundry facilities were excellent. The the stoves well . The only criticism might be that only two bedrooms had private baths, the others had to share (the younger members of the family didn't mind that much). The owners are excellent to work with, attentive to be sure you are happy and even baked special treats for us . Although the location is somewhat remote, the setting and the property itself more than make up for the distances needed for restaurants, groceries etc. We would return again to this property with great anticipation"
