  • Beautiful boathouse - gorgeous views!

"My wife and 14 year old grand daughter spent a wonderful week here in July 2016. The property is clean and comfortable and the owner Stephanie is friendly and helpful. The views from the property are spectacular and we loved being able to get onto the beach and into the water within a minute of leaving the apartment. Stephanie helped us to hire a kayak for our granddaughter which she absolutely loved, and we found the water to be comfortable enough to swim in, which we did every day. We found it necessary to hire a car and enjoyed the many small towns and sights that largely make up this part of the Wild Atlantic Way. The scenery is amazing, the people very friendly and we found no shortage of places to stock up on supplies, or to have lunch or afternoon tea. We always enjoyed returning to the boathouse where we had Dunmanus Bay to ourselves apart from a heron that visited daily. It is hard to put into words the peacefulness and calm of the area. Without doubt we would recommend it to others, and we hope to revisit ourselves before too long!"

  • Great house in quiet spot

"The house was upside down in design with open plan living room, dining area and kitchen upstairs which was very comfortable with a wood burning stove for nights in. The weather wasn't the best during our stay, but there is a cute balcony out the back of the property. The bedrooms are comfortable and functional and property was nice and clean. Kinsale is a vibrant town with lots to do, and no shortage of great restaurants and bars. The Tap Tavern being the nearest and the quirkiest with Mary Tap behind the bar and a roaring fire. It's like stepping back in time. For food, we loved Jim Edwards bar, Fishy Fishy and The Supper Club. Charles Fort at harbour worth a visit, as was the boat hire around the harbour. Great holiday"

  • We really loved the location! The house is very comfortable. We were warm and cozy the whole week.

"The house is very comfortable. The bathrooms are very nice. One suggestion would be an outlet in the bathroom for hairdryers or shavers. The kitchen had everything we needed. It is centrally located in Cobh. I found parking on the hill to be a bit of a challenge but really appreciated how helpful the owners were in making sure our spot was free right outside our door. I would definitely stay here again. The owners were wonderful and went out of their way to make sure that we had a good experience. I would recommend this location to any of my friends traveling to Ireland."

  • Our third summer staying at Hillcrest Farm

"This is a beautiful place to stay, the location could not be better. We have stayed in Ahakista for the past four summers, the last three at Hillcrest Farm as we really can't find anywhere better. If you like peace and quiet then you will definitely find it here. The view, which can be enjoyed from the patio, overlooks Dunmanus Bay and is beautiful. There is a lovely, mature garden, full of character, trees and shrubs everywhere plus a really useful washing line! Also plenty of parking space. The house is comfortable and well equipped, clean and well maintained with plenty of useful kitchen items like cling film, food bags and bin bags. There is plenty to do on Sheeps Head alone. Our particular favourites are Ahakista beach and The Tin Pub, Kilcrohane Pier where the children love jumping into the sea, The Heron Gallery for lovely food and beautiful art, and walking out to the lighthouse at the end of the peninsula. We are also able to bring our little dog here, and she loves it just as much as we do, making friends with Shep and some of the other local dogs! Thanks again to Agnes and Joe for welcoming us to their lovely piece of paradise."
