  • Enjoyed our home away from home.

"We stayed in the beautiful James Joyce apt. The apt. was clean and comfortable. The dryer didn't work in the apt. which was an inconvenience, there was another dryer in the back of the house I could have used. The only bathroom is accessed through the bedroom. This was not a problem for my husband and myself but it made me wonder how you would fit 6 people in this apt. A grocery store is within walking distance. The bus to Dublin Centre is at the end of the street and is about a 10 minute ride. We arranged to be picked up and dropped off at the airport through Liam. Our driver, Gary was very nice. Liam answered all emails and texts quickly. Liam was pleasant and professional. He also arranged other taxis for us, which was wonderful. I highly recommend the tour to Wicklow and the train to Belfast. Woudl rent again."

  • Our Dublin home away from home - highly recommended!

"We are a family with 2 teenagers who have traveled abroad before, but have always stayed in hotels. Our week at this Broadstone property is a big part of the reason why we enjoyed our week in Dublin! It is centrally located, spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. It was so nice to have a relaxing space big enough for us all to stretch out after long days of walking. The house is located about 20 minute walk from the city Centre. We typically walked directly down O'Connell Street and always felt very safe. The DART Connelly station is walking distance and enables you take a day trip down the southeast coast towards Wicklow. We also did a bus tour to the Cliffs of Moher, which picked up travelers in front of the Gresham Hotel, a 15 minute walk away. Blessington Basin in the green space nearby is a quaint but beautiful park. There is much to see in Dublin and this property provides a central location to access it all. We found everything we needed closeby - Tesco to stock up for the week and a Spar around the corner (open late) for any additional grocery items needed. Delisuz is about 2 blocks away on Blessington and offered freshly made gourmet sandwiches to go - great for our day trips outside Dublin. McGowan's on Phibsborough was a 3 minute walk and we had a very good meal there our first night. We had many other great meals in central Dublin (Woolen Mills near the Ha'penny Bridge was a highlight) and a fabulous dinner our final night at the Hungry Monk in Greystones. Simon was very accommodating - answering my many questions before we arrived, arranging airport transportation, storing our baggage after our very early arrival, and responding to questions while were there promptly and professionally. It has set the bar high for any future homestays. I would not hesitate to book this property again if we return to Dublin."

  • Fantastic Family Base for Dublin/Ireland Vacation

"At the risk of overselling this property so it will be unavailable the next time we want to rent it, my wife and I cannot say enough positive about the place, the location and our hosts. -- As for the hosts, they were in regular communication with us before we arrived, then met us (even though it was ultra early) and showed us the neighborhood and helped us get settled. When we had a problem with an appliance, they resolved it in a blink of an eye. Couldn't have been nicer, more pleasant or better people. -- As for the property, the pictures really undersell how spacious it is for a European house. At our max, we had two couples plus 4 kids and did not feel cramped at all, plus 2.5 baths is amazing and the back porch was awesome. There were multiple rooms to chill out in with plenty of sun. -- As for the location, Clontarf is a very quiet community that happens to have grocers and 4-6 excellent "night out" restaurants within walking distance, plus a couple of excellent quicker places including an awesome sandwich shop (Kennedy's) and a chipper. The house is a block off the sea-side promenade which was amazing to walk on. Then, we could either take the bus or the DART into downtown in 15-20 minutes without any problem at all. Plus, if you rent a car, you can pop up the seaside to any of the awesome seaside towns (or take the DART there) in no time or hop on the M50 to get outside of Dublin easily. We used the house as a home base to travel to Europe and it was an easy/quick/cheap shot to/from the Dublin Airport. We couldn't have been happier with this house."
