  • Amazing house--great for large or multiple families!

"We (4 adults and 4 teenagers) recently returned from our stay at the Priory. The house is amazing--spacious, comfortable, beautifully appointed and full of character. I should also mention that the wifi was great, which made the teenagers very happy. The Priory is well situated in Killarney, but at the same time it is private and removed from the hustle and bustle. We enjoyed exploring Killarney and the surrounding areas by day and returning to the Priory for rest and relaxation in the evening. Tim and Bernie are lovely people and were very helpful with recommendations on numerous fronts. From Dux for the Gap of Dunloe to Dave for the Ring of Kerry, not to mention excellent pub and restaurant options (you must eat at Bricin), their guidance was invaluable. I must also mention that Tim introduced us to the Killarney Brewing Company, of which he is part owner. The beers are really good and readily available in the local pubs in draught and/or bottle. KBC is a nice stop too if you like brewery tours and tastings."

  • Perfect Cottage!!

"Our family of four recently stayed at the Garden Mew Apt. for four nights. The apt. is located just behind the bed & breakfast. The apartment is cute, clean and private. We had everything we needed including a washing machine. The location is perfect! Just a 5 minute walk to the city center for food, shopping and local music every evening. John and his family our are lovely folks and were very helpful for various questions etc. We loved Killarney and enjoyed our stay!"

  • Comfortable home

"The location of this house is great. Accessible to all the sights and the ring of Kerry. We didn't specify an arrival time, which I recommend, since our host was out on an errand when we arrived. It was early March and the heat was off so it took a while for the home to warm up. The hosts were very helpful and apologized. They were very welcoming. The interior of the home had a stone wall and contributed to the Irish feel! It was a delightful stay!"

  • Coolcloger is a Rare Gem

"We are a large family (12, including a 6 month old and a 2 year old) that likes to travel together. Of the many amazing vacations we've enjoyed, our stay at the Coolcloger House was at the very top of our list. The website gives a mere suggestion of the delights that await Coolclogher guests. The home, minutes from Killarney, has been restored by its owners, Mary and Maurice Harnett, to its former glory, with beautiful antiques, exquisite wallpapers, and historic paint colors. The bedrooms are perfectly appointed, each with its own bath and breathtaking vistas from every room to the Kerry countryside. The beds/pillows are very comfortable, the linens fresh and white and crisp. The kitchen is very well outfitted, complete with a 6-burner Aga oven/range. There are several large gathering spaces, and multiple fireplaces, one of which was prepared for us every night. Yet, Coolcloger is not austere; every space is inviting and comfortable. We felt all week like we were at the home of some generous relative. Mary and Maurice were on hand as needed throughout our stay to advise and guide us about everything from outings, meals (she has outstanding chefs on hand who can prepare meals as desired), shopping (she drove us to her butcher and baker), and even party planning. On this last point, let me say that she orchestrated a elegant dinner at Coolclogher for my husband's birthday, which included rack of lamb, a homemade birthday cake, and live Irish music and dancing. What a night! I wanted to cry (in fact, I did cry) when we left. Our family always wants to choose a new adventure when planning travel, but we all agree we'll return to Coolclogher!"
