  • Wonderful holidays - it was almost like home

"Everything was set up on our arrival even biscuits and tea awaited us. The two bedrooms are nicely decorated and there was enough space where we could put our stuff. In the livingroom we found a tv set and in the kitchen area everything was provided you could think of. During some quite cold evenings we very much appreciated that the central heating coul be adjusted to our needs. The next pub (The Raven in Ballaugh) was within a ten minutes walk, the manificent scenery of Ballaugh Shore was just 20 minutes away and to the Wildlife Park it took us also a mere 20 minutes by foot along the dismanteled railway line. All in all Ballaterson Cottages was the best place to spend a relaxing, entertaining and still quiet fortnight on one of the most beautiful islands. If there is anything we may ask for at a forthcoming visit, it's just two things: some hooks in the bathroom to park your garment while washing, bathing or showering so that you don't have to drop it on the floor. And maybe free wifi to stay connected to our family and friends at home. Thank you Georgina!!!"

  • Lovely stay in quality flat , in quiet part of Island.

"Booking made very easy. Communication with owner made very simple and prompt replies. Property was clean and well cared for. Amenities were all present as stated in the accurate description. Layout of property well thought of and of quality build. If you like a powerful shower you wont be disappointed. The property is set in quiet countryside with stunning views towards Snaefell. Communications with owners whilst there could not have been better , nothing was too much trouble. In all a quality property set in lovely area on a lovely Island. Would recommend to friends and family. Thank you for a lovely holiday stay. If we come back to the IOM we will stay again."

  • A peaceful stay

"We very much enjoyed our stay in Georgina's cottage (no 1). It was equipped with everything we needed and was comfortable and peaceful with great views from the garden. Georgina was helpful and friendly. As others have mentioned, the Raven pub is within easy walking distance for an evening meal. It was only after we got home that we found out that there are wild wallabies living nearby (in the Ballaugh Curraghs) - we hadn't noticed any at the time! We did see seals on a boat trip from Port Erin however - highly recommended."

  • Peaceful, spacious and comfortable apartment

"Located at the top of Beechwood Rise on the outskirts of Douglas, the apartment was beautifully presented. It was clean, spacious and well-maintained with all mod cons. We appreciated the quality of the accommodation, including the shower cubicle with its digital control panel. It was a bit like being in Dr Who's Tardis! The location was perfect for getting out and exploring the island. We went everywhere from Point of Ayre to The Calf of Man. We recommend The Manx Museum in Douglas as a means of getting to know some of the island's rich history. There is also a smashing little art gallery there that creatively reflects The Isle of Man in various guises. Big thanks to the owners - David & Susan for hosting us and for allowing us to stay a couple of extra nights because of the Liverpool ferry being out of action. It was a great holiday made extra special because of where we were staying - a home away from home."
