Stunning Views, Loving Host and Amazing Villa

5 of 5
Meeting the Mignale family was the highlight and most memorable part of our 10 day Italy trip. They are a genuinely loving and affectionate family, going the extra step to attend to our comfort. The Villa is very spacious for a large family (2 full bed rooms and a third with a single bed), two baths, a full kitchen, patio, garden, veranda and terrace all with stunning views. There is a bus stop nearby (within 50 meters) to get to Amalfi (20 min, EUR 1.30 tickets from Bocca restaurant below the bus stop on SITA bust or EUR 2 on local Furore bus) and from there to Positrano (another 50 min Eur 2.30 on SITA bust) or Sorrento (1 h 15 min). The buses are standing room only during the busy season and there are long lines at Amalfi, Positrono etc. A comprehensive trust document/Will and a well articulated death wish (in case explanation is needed post haste) can ease the burden of driving and parking in the area somewhat. We managed to drive our stick shift up to the Mignales from Rome/Pompeii (another must visit) but decided against further tomfoolery. The nearest grocery store is not nearly near so carry the groceries with you when arriving or carry them back from Amalfi. Amalfi and Positrano are among the best places we have visited and you will build memories of a lifetime. Having your meal or a cuppa joe on the terrace and/or balcony of the villa is just what the doctor ordered. Looking forward to our next trip in near future and recommend this place for your stay in the area unreservedly. Maria, Luka, Marianna - thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Perfect for a family week on the Amalfi Coast

5 of 5
My husband, two sons (ages 7 and 9) and I stayed in apartment 5 for a week, and loved almost everything about it. Amalfi was the perfect town for us to stay in (easy access to other towns, and big enough to have everything we needed without losing charm), and the complex -- located a few hundred metres past the touristy zone -- gave us the feeling of staying in the "real" part of the town. We had great dinners at Donna Stella and il Molino, and a memorable lunch at Agricola Fore Porta (with a waterfall hike). We thought the pool hours were a bit short -- 10am-7pm -- but having a pool and an apartment in this area is a rarity, so it wasn't a big sacrifice. Also, there isn't a tumble dryer, but again, that's not hard to deal with. The only other thing that we weren't expecting is that the pool is also shared with apartments owned by another company, so the whole complex is a larger than we realised -- maybe 10 or 12 apartments in total. (At the end of our stay it got really busy, so I can believe the limited pool hours do help with noise.) We spent one day at the beach club at the Hotel Santa Caterina (one of the owners of the hotel also owns the apartments), which was such a treat. We stayed from morning until late afternoon and had so much fun. We took a private car from the Naples airport (stopping for a two-hour visit to Pompeii on the way), and leaving, took the ferry to Salerno, then got on a train to Rome. From what we gathered, most of the accommodations on the Amalfi Coast are either super swish hotels (perfect if travelling without kids, or for a shorter stay), or a bit sparse. So all in all, this was perfect for our family.
