  • Beautiful apartment with stunning views in a most perfect location.

"The week we spent at Casa Licia in Praiano was perfect in every way. The apartment was beautifully decorated in traditional but modern Italian style and perfectly clean. Modern applicances available such as dish washer and washing machine and air conditioning in the two bedrooms and living room and wi fi which our daughters were more than happy with. The view from the large terrace was breathtaking and to wake up every morning to the view and take breakfast in the terrace was perfect. The furniture on the terrace was beautiful, stunning Italian marbled table and chairs and sun loungers. The location of the apartment was very private and quiet, the walk up the 100 steps at first was a shock but we soon got use to it and came easier as the week went on. Priaiano is a beautiful town, quiet but enough restaurants to try the gorgeous food. There are two beaches at each end of the town both within walking distance of the apartment, with the Amalfi coast being so hilly the beaches are not sandy but rock and shingle but the sea is clear turquoise blue and warm and very inviting. One of the beaches has boats on hire and boat trip excursions to book, we went on a day trip to the island of Capri and had a wonderful day, the boat was in walking distance of the apartment. There are a few small supermarkets in Priaiano the one we used mainly was Tutto X Tutti which was amazing, stocked with most items needed, fresh bread was gorgeous and downstairs was the most amazing wine cellar!!!!!!!!. And was in walking distance of the apartment. As we hired a car and drove down the Amalfi coast from Rome, we had a car for the week, we didn't really need the car as parking in the towns nearby to visit was scarce and was much easier catching the bus which runs along the main road through Priaiano. The owner of the apartment had arranged a parking space for us which was free and approx 100m from the apartment. Booking this apartment through summer in Italy from the Home and away website was very easy, their communication was excellent and the owner of the apartment meet us on time and was more than helpful explaining the apartment and were the supermarket, beach etc was. The whole family of four had a wonderful holiday at Casa Licia and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful family holiday experiencing the tranquility and beauty of the Amalfi coast in a stunning Italiian apartment."

  • We've been in eleven

"We've been in eleven - mostly by the week - self cater facilities thus far in our almost full season driving tour throughout Italy. From top (Alps and Lakes) to bottom (finishing in Salerno, Basilicata, Calabria and Puglia) in this latest immersion (leaving out the whole middle part as I'd soon enough need a publisher) and recalling many others over a lifetime, we've never had better vistas than afforded in Villa Gisella. It's very possibly our best in that sense but such a thing is hard to admit to oneself. How does one compare an Audrey Hepburn to a Sophia Loren, Bach to Beethoven, Cinema Paradiso to On the Waterfront, buffalo mozzarella to aged provolone? Ed. Comment: Enough already! Many of the smaller appointments within the apartment itself were above any anticipated relative to the price paid. There's parking and an ingenious rope elevator luggage system included: two great bonus in the area saving so many euros, much hard work and otherwise unavoidable tedium). Additionally, fabulous Adriana and her sweetest daughter Michela [the owners] could not be kinder, more generous and helpful with their delightful little bonus surprises and support. I hesitate to detail examples save to say they included a variety of delightful tasty edibles, not wanting to ruin the surprises for anyone coming. One night while sleeping there was a strong thunderstorm knocking out the electricity for a bit. Automatically generated light went on in the kitchen so we could see whatever was needed. How many places provide such a service, one among so many extras? The vistas could not be better. We love Praiano because it has all the strengths we want of the Costa Amalfitana, but with far less heavy tourism, giving it a warm paese feel, and absolutely among the best vistas anywhere. We looked out to a blue green sea below, from THREE separate balconies in your apartment, this one speckled in flowering desert plants, another shaded by lemon tree arbors, and a third perfect option for outdoor dining or whatever from high above. One of our finer meals in Italy was but two doors away as well. Could one do better for the price? In my mind that is very difficult to imagine and we heartily recommend Villa Gisella as a base for an Amalfi stay, Our next door delightful neighbors in Praiano for the week have been coming for extensive stays over many years and will continue to do so. Grazie tanto: Adriana and Michela for a great life memory!"

  • The Amalfi Coast is Amazing Year Round

"This property was perfect for our family of 5. Everything about the listing was accurate. The photos did not capture how truly awesome the views of the sea are from several vistas. We were skeptical about traveling to Amalfi in December, but now will not hesitate to return, as we had sunny days, we could get by with light winter coats, and even ate outside at night on several occasions. The views from this property are stunningly beautiful. The property is secure and felt secluded even though there are obviously going to be other properties on all sides of a steep hillside retreat such as this one. It was large enough for our purposes and certainly would also very much be a delight to enjoy in the warmer months. It was updated in every way, very clean, and fully functional. The owner was incredibly responsive and worked to ensure we had the best possible experience. It was simply great. We recognized that traveling in the "off season" might mean fewer options as far as dining, and this was true. December is not a high travel month to the area, but we found there were still several restaurants open to serve the public, a general store and grocery store to meet our daily needs a short trip down the hill directly below us, and a Catholic church also within sight and just one minute from the grocer. For peace, tranquility, and even outdoor ping pong fun with your kids(!), this wonderful property cannot be beat."
