  • Convenient and beautiful flat leads to a wonderful month

"We spent the month of September 2016 at Gabriella's lovely flat in Bologna and had a wonderful time. Gabriella met us on the first day with a cake and a bottle of Lambrusco. She also had stocked the fridge with milk and orange juice. She gladly offered to help us in any way possible and followed through with directions to good restaurants, a laundry (dry cleaners), and grocery stores. We have been to Bologna several times before and the location of her apartment was one of the many reasons we chose it. We were not disappointed!! The apartment is large compared to many we have seen especially in the center. The views from the living room, master bedroom, and the bath were spectacular!! The kitchen was well appointed and she even had a shopping cart for our use. The apartment is on the 4th floor of a historic building and has an elevator; another reason for us to choose it. Around the corner from the apartment are several trattorias and a small grocery and one of the main streets is just a few meters away. It is very easy to get to any location in the center from this apartment. One of the best things about Bologna now is that on the weekends, three streets that form a T (Rizzoli, Ugo Bassi, and Independenzia) close and become pedestrian only. That is when the fun begins! There are street musicians everywhere, fairs for various reasons, and an electric atmosphere. There is always something going on at Piazza Maggiore!! And the apartment is across the street Rizzoli from the merriment!! When we return to Bologna in the future, you can rest assured that we will try to rent this apartment again!!"

  • Superb

"Alba was in constant contact with me from the first day I inquired until the day before I left. On arrival(they were kind enough to meet me earlier than I originally stated), they had a bottle of champagne and cold water waiting. The apartment was very well located.....close to the two towers. I felt completely at home. I was really surprised at how quiet the apartment was, even during the day(I am a light sleeper). I found the apartment to be clean and cozy. It was nice to listen to their jazz and blues music while sipping wine in the quiet apartment. The washing machine worked wonderfully well and was a big help. I found the drying rack for the clothes and was amazed at how fast my clothes air dried. The temperature inside was also very comfortable. I slept so well in the comfortable bed that I was finding it harder to get up. I was able to walk to the train station within 25-30 mins. Also, it was close to good restaurants. As a single female, I felt very safe(I came in late most nights and always felt safe walking in the area). Overall this is one of the best apartments that I have ever rented. I actually felt as if I were in my own home. I liked that I could walk everywhere from this location. I really appreciated the owners hospitality. I hope to return and stay again soon. ."

  • Excellent

"Great location for ease of cycling or bussing into Bologna Piazza Maggiore. Very comfortable and large apartment. Added AC so no more hot, summer sleepless nights. We will be returning every year."

  • PERFECTION!!

"FIrst of all, Bologna is an enchanting city. We'd only seen it before from the train window. What a mistake we've made never to get off and explore. In the old center of town, the civic pride of another age makes a spectacular show through its architecture. The unity created by the hundreds of loggias, many with delicate stonework you might only see in a large church, make the old part of town one big, beautiful whole. Christina's apartment is in the middle of it all. On weekends, the citizens turn out by the thousands, just to stroll the streets, which are closed to vehicular traffic, to meet and greet each other, to enjoy a meal in the twilight, to encourage the street musicians, to rub shoulders with other Bolognese. Just walking about with this huge crowd was as JOYOUS an experience as I've ever had. And, tonic for the soul, the oldest University in Italy, through which you'll walk, is bursting with energetic young people. Now, when you do get off that train, as you MUST, if your VRBO reservation is with Christina, you will understand what true hospitality is. You will never be welcomed more warmly and personally. She anticipated, and provided for, all our needs thoroughly.....think pantry, refrigerator, bathrooms, music, movies... The clarity of Christina's instructions on how to use her appliances and equipment left no room for doubt or confusion, which we appreciated. But, let me tell you about the apartment. You've seen the pictures, so you know what it looks like. Although hunting trophies generally turn me off, the animals on the walls seemed to be long dead friends, who were watching over us. And I really liked Christina's loyalty to a personal past. Everything is as the pictures show, except more so. For instance, I could see my reflection in the stairs as I descended to my bed room. I wish I had as much closet space at home as Christina has provided. The bed and bedding are so comfortable, I slept better in Bologna than anywhere in a long time. The frilly curtain detail over the bed amused me every time I went downstairs. Freddy Mercury on the wall was a delight. (Maybe Bologna just put me in high spirits!) My daughter slept just fine upstairs on a sleeper sofa. While it's no great loss, we never found any TV in English; however, we didn't ask. Our days were full. My husband, envious after hearing our stories, can't wait to go stay in Christina's apartment too."
